I've been having fun recruiting today

And I imagine you're quite good - and successful! - at it.

How to I join?

Just add a badge, icon, or just a link to Team PM in your Sig line. You may also want to add a direct link to send you a PM. Also optional is to add the button that creates a pop-up window about Team PM. I have all three. The Badge in my Sig is a link to send me a PM. A also have a link to the Team PM thread, and the button about Team PM.

Then welcome any PMs you receive and promptly & politely reply to all PMs.

Just that simple.

But here's what I did....

So Team PM is all about sending respectful PMs to peeps... I got to thinking that besides ONE person who I know I PMd first (sooooo glad I did, btw!) everyone else I've got to know just PMs me... which is also still GREAT!

So tonight I sent out some respectful PMs to random peeps, just to see what happens, and I think I've made at least one new friend anyway..

So the word on the street is... don't be shy ~ send that PM ... see what happens ...

So Team PM is all about sending respectful PMs to peeps... I got to thinking that besides ONE person who I know I PMd first (sooooo glad I did, btw!) everyone else I've got to know just PMs me... which is also still GREAT!

So tonight I sent out some respectful PMs to random peeps, just to see what happens, and I think I've made at least one new friend anyway..

So the word on the street is... don't be shy ~ send that PM ... see what happens ...

Have sent a couple in the spirit of TPM and - guess what? Peeps seem to like that approach! We may be onto something here...

I was just doing it in the role of the guy on the street...

I'd just like to banish all the negativity surrounding PMing. I still see people giving others 'warnings' about sending them the kind of PMs they don't want to get ...

But, to me, that's the 'respectful' part. If someone states they're not looking for cyber or men or whatever - fine. It's disrespectful to act counter to that. I agree - you don't have to read or reply. It would be great if peeps would treat unwanted PMs like junk mail - you don't have to report it or make all PM-ing out to be bad, just delete it (or even better, politely say 'thanks but no thanks') and move along.

I'd love to be on Team PM....just have to figure this all out. Can't even remember when I've been into my signature section. (technically challenged and short on time).

Since the team is growing so well, I nominate Lorelei to be the Chief General Manager, Grand PooBah and Presiding Dictator over the team.

I'd also like to nominate Inspirinious as the Chief Technological Officer and QSco as Ruler of Star Fleet Command and Mindfondler as Emperor of Awesomeness.

Whilst I'm very flattered by that nomination, I don't believe that I've really embraced Awesomeness here. All that I did was to create a thread based on Lorelei's idea and then leave it to the team to build on that. Indeed, over the last few days, I would more accurately be characterised as the Emperor of Absenteeism.

Sorry, I decline all of those nominations, I think they should be Mindfondler's jobs. I nominate Mindfondler.

I don't think I'd make a very good dictator. I'm more of a touchy-feely team player/manager. Besides, all of the great ideas in this thread have come from other people, so it wouldn't make sense for me to try to impose my own will on how things should be done.

No one really reads post one and if they do I think Mindfondler explained everything excellently. There's no confusion to this thread or idea if people simply READ it. Enough people have put enough time and work into creating links and explanations.
