How do you post a picture that is open in the post? I mean if I post a picture you have to click on a link to view it. I see others that the picture is the post. How is that done.

One last time...

Left click on the image where it lives, right click on Copy Image Address.

In the text box on Lit, click the Icon with the mountains and the sun. In the dialog box that pops up, click in the text box and press ctrl + V, then click OK.

Or if you're a techie... you can simply type in the information using the [img] tags [img]url where the image lives[/img].

You can use ctrl V to place the URL between the [img] tags

It should work with all image files bmp, gif, jpe, jpeg, jpg, and png. It will not work with video or webm files.

Some domains are blocked. If you try to use a blocked domain it won't work. ********.com for example. I typed in a domain I know is blocked.

No. That's why they are called attachments. If you want you can upload them to an image service somewhere on the web and store them there.

The reason I ask is ever since you told me how to post pictures I’ve been a posting fool. Some places block part of the URL ******. I was thinking if I screen shot the picture then uploaded to my attachments I could just use the url from my attachments to post the photo. But I guess it doesn’t work that way. Probably for the best.

Well it would, but if you don't own the photo you can't store it on the Lit server. If it's photo on you computer an attachment is the only way. If it resides on another server, you can right click on that image and click copy image address Then in a post, click on the mountain and sun icon and paste the URL into the field that pops up. Click okay and your golden.

There are some sight that Lit blocks because they are spam sites, malware sites or virus sites.

It's not all that hard, really. Just right click on the image and in the menu that pops up there should be a choice "copy image address" click it.

For an image from another site, you type: [img]paste image address here[/img]

Or you click the mountain and sun icon and paste the address into the dialog box that appears. Then click okay.

What you should see is the image you selected to post... after you click submit reply...

Now if you are attaching an image to a post it will not display automatically. You will have to get the image address once you upload it. There will be a link for that in the upload box. Once you copy the address follow the steps above.

You had two HTTP: one without an s and one with...

I fixed it for you.

As for your two attachments... You have to get their URL to have them display in the post other then as a link.

You do that by clicking on the link and copying the URL and pasting it into the dialog when you click on the mountain and sun icon.

both lines of code have double http in them. When you paste in the code, leave the http:// highlighted. Or hit the delete key first then paste in the url.
