Thanks to Anelize

I second all of that! Yay, Library Lady! Your dedication and enthusiasm are unsurpassed, and you have helped make this forum a well-informed, wel-comed crew. As always, you have my well-earned respect and our gratitude.

I appreciate ALL the kudos, but coming from you in particular Nemo, it means alot. There wouldn't BE a Library if it weren't for you. I don't ever forget that. Thanks, darlin.

No, no! Thank you for so graciously rescuing me from myself!

Hey, by the way, are you Screamer Girl from the website linked in your signature?

No, I'm not Screamer_Girl. But, isn't she cool?

*grin*

I had never heard of her 'til I clicked on your link, Anelize. She seems pretty cool, though a bit full of herself. But hey, no one's perfect!

My question is this: how come some people have all the candle-making, famous-blog-writing luck?

I agree with some things Screamer Girl has to say, but like NemoAlia, I detect someone who does really feel she has the answers we would all do well to adopt as our own. I also feel a lot of anger and arrogance simmering beneath the words which never goes a long way to impress me. It is not so much what she says, which I do not find original at all, but more so in the delivery of those words. Her writing skills are good in that they create an illusion of depth without always delivering that much depth to the thoughts she discusses, and I must say I don't like the written style of setting out her own personal observations and beliefs in a form which resmebles a list or rules....but hey, it works by drawing a lot of people in to believe what they read is prophetic when in reality it is the same views expressed on many websites, often with added exploration and depth beneath the surface spiel. More power to her though for finding a way to attract a following of devoted fans.

Catalina,

While I agree with much of what you have said, it's the brevity of her writing style that actually attracts me. Some days, I do want depth, but many days, all I have the energy for is the bottom line. I find her useful for reminding me of the bottom line sometimes. For me, no one writer or site is the gospel. I take a few tidbits from most of the sites I visit. The rest, I leave behind.

I can understand that, and I guess it is a bit of my professional training interfering with my ability to just read and accept, but to me right down to the red background, it speaks anger and a person with issues that run deep but are not about to be dealt with. That then raises so many questions in my mind which then bring up even more questions.

I just love it when stuff I put out there promotes discussion.

Cool.

She's an interesting being, that's for sure. What do I like about her? She speaks HER truth, in a no-bullshit, take-no-prisoners style. Let me say that again. HER truth. I agree with some of your points Catalina :) Having read through much of her writings, she'd probably agree with you too. LOL. But, she's not out there to please the greater BDSM "community" as a whole, and that, in and of itself, is bound to piss quite a few people off.

I am not here to defend her position, so I won't continue. But I'm happy that folks have found her site interesting. Perhaps I'll post something new and intriguing down there next week. You never know what I might run across out there in the badlands of the 'net LOL.

Yes it is her truth, and some I can agree with, but I just feel like I am reading someone who despite her words, expects others to follow suit or they are not dealing in reality as she is keen to emphasise more than once, often about beliefs she feels strongly about. She also sounds as if she is under attack which I believe she has been in places, but that anger in her words is like someone having a bad day at work then coming home to let everyone there have it. But you are right, it is always good to put things on here which raise discussion, especially as it has been so slow of late. Maybe the twins should unite to find something dynamic for next week.:D
