I swear that rings a bell.
maybe I saw parts of it.

Bound's a pretty good flick, the first movie by the Wachowski Brothers (who later made The Matrix). It stars Gina Gershon as a butch lesbian who helps Jennifer Tilly (the bisexual mistress of a mafia guy played by Joe Pantoliano) rip off the Mob. Jennifer Tilly's character isn't actively a bottom, although she does act submissively to the mafia guy and in general. But that voice, argh!

i liked bound a great deal - it's the ultimate combination of porno and excellent plot. and what's more, i really like ceaser's character. he's not as stupid as the girls anticipate, and he even manages to figure everything out. really, he just has a VERY bad night!

Nope
if he'd been Dom-ing her, the first thing he would've done was put a ball gag in her mouth at all times to shut out that nasal whine :D

(hijack) Interestingly enough, that's not her real voice. I took a call from her at work, booked the res (I'm in reservations at an airline), and when I got to the "recieved from" part and I assumed I had a travel agent on the line and asked what agency she worked for. So she says "It's me, this is what I normally sound like!" I read somewhere afterwards that she originally did speak that way but when she wanted to be an actresss she went to a voice couch. But when she auditioned the guys she auditioned for they wanted "the voice". So it came back. (/hijack)

Wow, that's awesome! Lucky you getting to talk to her. Funny that she uses her coached voice as her normal voice, and only uses her original voice when she's acting.

I can't remember her name, but the same thing happened with the girl that starred opposite John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever. She had a very bad Brooklyn accent, and went to a coach to lose it. when she auditioned for the part they asked "can you do a Brooklyn accent?" She was floored, but got the part.

did you know she had cancer and she survived and wrote a book about it.. i heard it was really good...
She is also known for being active in fund raising for MD Anderson in Houston where she was treated. Several folks who work there have talked to me about meeting her and how charming and incredibly sweet she is.

I thought that's who we were talking about - Fran Drescher.

The Saturday Night Fever co-star was Karen Lynn Gorney. Although, Fran Dresher was in the movie, she wasn't the female lead opposide Travolta.

But, she was the lead in the Nanny. Either one of these ladies would be fun, if you ask me. But, then, I am a bit of a perv, sometimes.

OK, all the time!
