The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Happy Sunday. I'm a bit out of focus. I'm kind of tired, a touch depressed, and the days are getting both shorter and colder. And it doesn't rain any more. The cats are fine. TDK is close, watching me. Still stuck on this plateau. The tendinitis is a bit better, but it's very early in the treatment process. I don't feel like doing shores. No matter - this is temporary.
Would hugs help? 🫂🫂🫂

I'm feeling similarly today. But at least it IS raining here.

My furnace is broken..... I am cold and want to cry..... called the people who I have a vip contract with. They don't have anyone to come today.... because they are faith based ....mmmhmmm..... and my other guy won't answer my texts or calls there is something going on with him because he isn't like that......
Come here! It's raining outside but nice and warm inside. I have electric blankets and throws. If that's not enough heat, I have a snuggly puppy! 🫂🫂🫂

I'm so sorry about your dad. Love that you had that special time together and were able to express your love to him. 😍 🤗

I don't doubt my dad knew I loved him. Just sad that I missed what ended up being one of the last chances to express it to him unequivocally. I'm learning though. My niblings will tell you their auntie is silly, but gives the best hugs. 💗
Can't ever give to many hugs and loves! 🥰🥰

Afternoon everyone
Hmm... the vibe says we need a round of hugs!
Barkeep! A round of hugs - on me!!

🤞 they find an inexpensive solution for you!!
I missed Prime Day and hope this PC will last through Black Friday / Cyber Monday. Thankfully some sales have started early, so I've been browsing already.
Expensive year - both PC and cell phone need replacing - both quite desperately.

We had that once, but not in the freezer.
Remember the Campbell's Labels campaign for schools?
One year in particular, our grade school pushed it hard.
Each teacher told each class they expected 5 labels per student by the end of the week.
At the time, we had 5 kids in different grades at the same time.
I thought mom was going to lose it when she saw all the naked canned goods in the pantry!
I can only imagine how the conversation went between her and either the school secretary or the principal. I know she spoke with one of them, just not sure which. We were never pressured about bringing in labels ever again. The messaging changed to "check with your parents and bring in what you are able".
Thankfully, most of the cans were stamped on the bottom with both expiration date and a short description to give a clue to the contents.
This is a good time of year to be looking for both computers and phones. I have a friend who owns a computer consulting company. He looked at the specs on the computer I bought and gave his blessing. I haven't called him about the monitor issue yet; I was hoping to solve it myself. I was in Costco today. I took some pictures of likely contenders to run past him if I decide to send this one back. 😖😖

I'm also looking at phones. I don't NEED a new one but I want one. I keep hoping Samsung will have a BOGO for Christmas on phones. Problem is, I like the flagship models. 🙄🙄

I had to laugh about the labels. I don't remember doing that. We also had 5 kids so it would be a similar scenario! 🤣🤣

So.... it was stupid.....

At the end of the season I didn't replace the super dirty filter. So when I turned up the heat it wasn't getting any air and turned 9n some high pressure alarm which prevented it from firing.....so he came out I had filters he replaced cleaned and cycled twice.....

All for the grand Sunday service call fee of 90$

He is a great guy....
Not bad price to pay for that. And peace of mind. Now you're nice and warm. And can sleep! 🫂🫂🫂

Good!!! Excellent!!! Worth every nickel. So I trust he showed you how to change the filter. Don't use the HEPA filters - they make the fans work too hard. Use a decent filter and change it at least every 90 days - 30-45 is better, especially during a/c season. Don't use the uber-cheap filters. Mid-grade is more than good enough.

Wat burns some bad-ass incense . . . .
Wat does burn good incense!

How does one know what the mid-grade filters are? My furnace has washable filters but my husband also used the replaceable ones. My nephew washed the washable filters when he was here this summer. The furnace started going on in October.

I bought the ace hardware decent ones.... looked just like the filtrete at half the cost.... I am ashamed to say I never thought of changing the filter during the summer..... I told you it is a boy job.... I feel sort of stupid though.... I know better....

I know how to hange i just messed up.... ugh.
Don't beat yourself up, girl! I don't even know where the filters go! 🙄😖 I should probably ask the contractor guy the next time he's here.

That is some fancy incense you have there ..... 90$ was a blessing. He is someone my parents use. He has customers that are older who have been told that they have to buy new ACs and this that and the other and he is like nope I'm not going to make these 80 year old ladies buy new air conditioners when I can get them limped along with r 22 that I have stockpiled and take care of them because they won't be living in their homes long enough to explain away the spend. He doesn't try to screw people over or make them buy things that they don't need. He is a blessing
He sounds like a great guy!
