The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

The Hoppin' John's are better than expected. I would put the recipe I used here but my main VM choked after a power outage. I tried to 'fix' it SFC ChkDsk... I should have done a reset save my files while it was still an option. Still copying the data off the disk so I can get some semblance of the machine back. I'm really going to miss it. Originally built in 2006 and meticulously upgraded virtual hardware and OS as needed. I am sure there are several apps I moved along so I did not have to use the new or modern ones that are supposedly better.
I found the recipe on Saveur and just made it. I did not compare it to food52's version or ask chatgpt for variations it could find. It is just good.
I think I understood abt half of that!

Maybe 3/8 of it.

@Wat_Tyler - what is the percentage of that? 😂

Another mindless day of work.

I think I still like it.

I am not sure. I like the routine of it… I like the paycheck.

My coworker and counterpart is retiring. March 31st. I was pretty surprised. My boss was pretty upset - like in a good way.

But life and work and stuff moves on.

We gotta figure out if we’ll have the headcount or if we have to do more with less… let me guess.

Wat has never had that happen. If he had ever had that happen, I am certain that he'd turn the tip jar over, take out his change, and maybe a few cents more for Asshole Tax.

Because assholes.
I usually just give them "the look" when they do it. It has always resulted in them fishing my change out of the jar. 😅😅

This would have been very handy. Another is to include a list of whatever life insurance policies you might have. Make a large lovely folder with all of this stuff in an easy-to-find location and then tell them where that is.

Ask me why I think this.

Go ahead, just ask . . . .
🫂🫂 I know. 😢

My nephew already has the contact info of my FA. He knows where all the money is.

Everything else will go into a pretty pink file folder. I've a already sent copies of the will to the kids. I'm trying to make it all very simple.

Been pretty damn cold on the hill as we start the year but beautiful and the boys are as keen as ever despite the ice.

Sadly the day ended with Ben tearing his leg openbwhen he misjudged a jump over a barbed wire fence. Fortunately my first aid kit carries a stapler so one of the keepers did it while I held him. The vet is happy and I just have a course of antibiotics for him. Does mean two weeks without him on the hill. Sadly but he will be fine
Oh, poor Ben! I'm sure he appreciated you holding him while his wound was attended to. I hope he heals well with no infection. 🙏🥰

Beautiful photos! 😍
