The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

I haven't read any of his stuff. Maybe I should. Paying It Forward is the bomb, though.

OM is right. I walk, no running. No bear spray, but on my person is a 9mm, a nasty folding knife and a set of knuckledusters. I'm too old to run, too old to lose, and too young to die. I don't care what they bring, because I have an answer.

Off for Round #2.
That’s the spirit, Wat.

Cussed stubbornness. (My dad used to used that word, looks like cussed, but he would say cussedness (like super stubborn…)

Sounds good to me. Yes, I am from Texas. Dallas area to be more exact.
Nice.

I used to be stationed at Fort Hood. My wife and I went back to Texas last September and I forgot how awful hot it is even an early September.

West Texas and Texas Hill country are beautiful!!

Heard this the other day on outlaw country channel… One of my favorites!!

Weeding is the biggest thing they are out of control.... I qm ashamed of how it looks
You might be able to really make a quick dent if kneeling doesn’t bother you too much. You can beat the heat by working early or late and maybe make some quick work of it w a weeding tool or even a screwdriver to try to get em by the roots.

I reread them, including Starship Troopers, when I need something to relax. Every time I reread them I find something else to ponder.
I think you’ve given me some inspiration. I have so much on my reading plate.

What did you think of the movie that they made several years ago? I actually enjoyed it. Very campy and fun.

Then I googled it and realized it was like 25 years ago that that movie came out. Apparently there was another version that came out in 2016.

I’m a huge Robert Heinlein fan (Stranger in a Strange World, The Moon is a Harsh Mistress) and he was an advocate of pay it forward. I’m not as good at this as I should be, but I’m a work in progress as we all are.
Starship Troopers was a good one also. If I remember that work was actually used as reference material at the USMA. I seem to remember one of our Lieutenants telling me about that…🤔

Yeah.... I live in a little village. And grew up on a farm. My back yard is a field for now, but the farmer just put it up for sale and developers are circling.... we will have houses there eventually. So the days of having guns out and hunting in the forested area are gonna be over soon.
Naaaah...the deer will lose their antlers and walk on two legs. Remember any protein on your property is fair game 🤣🤣🤣

Not a fan of the movies, I wish they would have followed the book. But then again, what movie follows the book?

Yeah. Kneeling is hard but I can sit in the dirt.... some stuff I can shovel up. I may just start with the easy side early in the am while no mosquitos and cool..... I am thinking the rubberized mulch instead of the stuff that has to be replaced all the time..... or I can get stone for free... I am having some health stuff that should abate soon soon......
