The China Pearl Inn part 9

O it ended years ago and I don’t remember the first runs. But it continues to be shown on the ‘Gold’ channel, old repeats but still funny.

CO arrives tomorrow. I’ve got to convince her I’m fit to return to duty.

Only if you really are. Don't be risking the baby's health.

Good luck talking your CO into anything G G. I know here and she will do what is best for you and the command. Oh yes she will take your wishes into consideration but in the end she will do what is best for all concerned.;)

Huh!

If I go to bed late and sleep in late, I sit around and do nothing all day. Sounds good to me.

If I go to bed early and get up early, I end up doing dishes, laundry and other stuff. This early to bed/early to rise thing is crazy stupid. Who wants to work ALL day???

Think I will go take a nap and stay up half the night!!!:D

We’re up at 0500 hours most days!

Manoeuvres in France went well, getting back to UK today. Had a great pep talk from the CO yesterday - she was very encouraging and supportive. Those of us from OTS had one to one with her. She told me she used to frequent these pages when she was at OTS and mentioned how much respect she has for the Chief, (C G Raven).

Happy Friday All! (Well, it will be happier after another cup of tea...)

GG, very relieved that you and BigL are well! I will certainly keep you both in my prayers.

Glad things went well in France, Robyn. I got your message and will put pen to paper (virtually) this weekend.

Alright, back to the grindstone... literally...

*Crawls out of the hole under the bar noticing with distaste that spiders have ,made webs across the opening.*

*Grabs a lovely shiny blue bottle from the cabinet and plonks down at the bar for some serious bottle time*

*sighs contently as everything seems right with the world again*

Hi there, Happy first day of autumn. :) Here it is 80s all week. Comfortable with a fan on, but it is hot when I go outside. Seems to be a cloud sitting over my head. Usually there is a mild breeze this time of the day which makes the cottonwood dance like crazy, but it is still. I see blue sky in the distance, but it is definitely dark in my place. LOL Days are getting shorter and the sun goes down behind the hill earlier and earlier.

How are things in your neck of the woods? Did you go look at some houses today?

Well my writing partner and I have ended our story. It took us two years, and 383 posts to come to a conclusion for our two lawyers. Who knows how many different readers there were and how many actually read it and didn't just open the thread, but the count was 23,878 views. Not bad considering how little sex was in the story. :D

So how is the weekend going for the rest of you?

WOOOOOH! Finished SF!?! Well done. I haven't stopped in for a read in a while so I might have some catching up to do.

Haven't got time now but I will read the end soon.:)

Crappy weather here so having a quiet weekend.

Uggg:rose:

Seems like a lot of places are having tropical storms these days. We finally have a dry period. :) Sorry you couldn't get out on the water, maybe next weekend. :)

Our last post was actually at the beginning of the summer, then, because I had a teenager in the house, we postponed writing. We just reviewed what we had written and realized it was a perfect place to stop. Any more feels like we are forcing the story. But I will miss the characters and my writing partner who is going to take some time off Lit. I hope you enjoy where we took the story line. Thanks for reading it. :)

Not very many more. A handful at most.

Yup just read them. Nice way to finish off... So what ya going to write now?

Thanks. He actually wrote the ending as a way to move the story forward, but to me it was the perfect way to end it.

Nothing I suppose. It is darn close to impossible for me to find a writer that will write a non-sex oriented story and has a plot I find interesting. Not to mention I go several days between posts while I figure out what to write. LOL

I know Glad left a present for you. I am sure you did your happy dance. :D

Heya cutie pie!:rose:

Yup I saw that. Having a nice think about it before I post a reply.

Gotta get my head back into character. Will probably do one later tonight.:D

Uggg:heart:
It was a good one, your think went well. I has replied even. two in one weekend, look at that, hell froze over when you weren't looking.

What a chatty trio you are SF, Glad, and the irrepressible Uggg.

S F the boards also have an area for non sexual stories as well if I remember.

Weather here has settled down into the sixties for the most part for day time highs and I am rather enjoying it. Off next weekend to look at a place or two to call home. here's hoping. ;)

The CO was here for the retirement party of the overall NRR Commander (among other things). I’m not allowed to name the Commander but I bet CG knows who he is. Those of us at OTS who are seconded to NRR (Sal, Chloe, James and me from the Lions/Lionesses) we’re invited to the party and given leave to attend.

Lt GG was there (looking radiant - it is so strange to see her in a dress) proudly showing her BigL bump. Others from our cohort we’re there including Lt HSG. It was a great evening with a big presentation and a greeting from Jens Stoltenberg and other senior members.

In his final speech the Commander thanked us for what we’ve done and will do. Then he organised for a singer to sing ‘The Way You Look Tonight.’ The room was full of battle hardened warriors from 14 nations yet there were tears in so many eyes. A huge group photograph was taken and the ‘Boss’ said he would hang it in his ‘den’ in his home and from time to time he would look at and listen to a recording of this special song.

We’re back at OTS now and ready for our next session of study. But I’ll never forget this weekend.

Military retirements always touched a soft in me, yes there is at least one or possibly two Robyn. It is an ending and at the same time a beginning of something new. It is a hard time for all of us who served and saw it out to the end. It is a hard road that takes us away from loved ones and often places us in "harms way".

I am glad you had an enjoyable weekend and were given leave to attend to the party now back to work young lady I am expecting great things from you in the future. ;)
