The China Pearl Inn part 9

I really want to meet the queen, she seems feisty (no disrespect). American "leaders" are a tremendous let down.

Kama it is an honor to meet the Queen. Normally it is for some service rendered to the Nation or the Crown. Even a few Canadians and Yanks have had the honor. ;)

Hiya All:rose:,

sorry for the extended absence have been a bit unwell. Should be online a bit over this weekend. Can hopefully catch up for a chat.

Uggg:rose:

Get well soon Uggg

Kama, CG is right, it is an honour to meet Her Majesty. I’ve met her three times and on each occasion you know you are in the presence of greatness. But don’t under estimate your American leaders. I met President Obama twice and he came across as a deeply caring man, a man I would have been honoured to serve under.

Hope it's not what I think it is. I've been feeling pretty bad too, tbh. We should both see our doctors, stat!

*huge hugs*

IMO nearly every world leader has been a huge let down, save one or two notable exceptions. I might be a cynic, but people in positions of power (outside of sexual ones, of course) do not impress me.

Hi Shiva, enjoy your time off work but remember Denmark is on an earthquake ridge so try not to move the earth:devil:

No promises, but I can tell you one thing: Whenever I walk down the street on a pokemon hunt, we all run the risk of cataclysmic destruction from the slap slap slap of my thunder thighs. Don't believe me? Just ask badgy, he's nearly suffocated between them on more than one occasion.

I'm once again in awe of your humility. I would not be a good soldier because I ask "why?" way too much. And I'm also not afraid to say "no" either ;)

Greets to everyone this fine Saturday afternoon. It's colder than expected here, but no snow yet. Almost Halloween, but there are so few events that it almost doesn't matter. I bet there won't even be trick or treaters since that has not caught on yet here. I will be sending my kid to school in a costume, but she may very well be the only one.

Further, apologies for delayed responses, missed quotes and unanswered PM's. I've been having issues off and on. And it's getting to be winter time which is never good. Keep pressing me, I'll get there eventually.

Morning Shiva.

I sild over a cup of coffee to the charming young Miss.

Sounds like you miss trick or treating. When I was living back east for the last several years it was a very rural area and I don't think in nine years I had a single trick or treater.

G G Her majesty is a constant. Our President like your Prime Minister can be either inspiring or an embarrassment. Thank fully we are not suck with them for very long.

Perfectly said, GG.

It is almost 80 outside, I have the window opened to try to warm up the inside of the house. So here I sit looking at a warm, blue sky while wearing a t-shirt and long sleeved flannel shirt inside considering turning on the heat. I am so turning into my grandmother...sigh.

Chloe, Sal, Claire and Ruth join me in raising a glass to you Luv2bfkd. Here in the UK our clocks go back tonight meaning we get darker nights. I hate it!

I always asked why, I had my fair share of head knocks for it too. But being able to think for myself was part of what made me good at my job.

Shiva you would HAVE to obey instantly. If you were marching down a street and the order came “HALT!” You would be expected to obey IMMEDIATELY. One more step and you might set off a landline killing yourself and everyone round you. You can always ask “why?” later but at the time, on the day, we’d expect you to stop.

So true G G and yet so few start out understanding the why of it. Most regs are written in blood as we used to say. ;)

Again, the reason I'd make a piss poor soldier. Cos I don't really like taking orders from people. So just be glad that I'm not.

That’s fine Shiva, we can’t all serve in the Forces. You serve in other ways and together we’ll make this world a better place.

Everyone in a Democracy has a role to play. The soldier, sailor and airman to defend the country and the citizen to participate in the government and vote. Well at least that is the way I see it G G and Shiva.
