The Chinal Pearl Inn part 8

Gods I've had such a stressful day at work. I feel like crying. I'm home now but I don't feel like I can relax because I'm so fucking wound up! Just trying to get my mind turned off so I can chill and let it all go. FUCK!!!

I don't like the way work has been making you feel lately. :(

::Hands Uggg a bottle of gin and starts to massage his shoulders.::

With a crack of lightning and a thunderous boom, she reappears in the same chair she seemingly magically vanished from. A dewy pair of eyes and a half-awake expression plastered her features into a perpetual state of looking into the void and waiting for it to blink at her.

“Mmm, what did I miss?” she muttered groggily, wiping her eyes with her sleeve. Her eyes shifted from Glad to FD and a smile curled her lips.

“Oh, right, right, I’m too young to lament about my age,” she chortled. “I feel like age is a state of mind, regardless of what functions the body can or cannot perform due to time passing, and, when you’ve hit rock bottom in the pits of hell and had to claw your way back up, I feel like that you earn some sort of accolades while the rest of your generation stumbles around complacent and numb.”

She removed her glasses and wiped them carelessly on her shirt before replacing them onto the bridge of her button nose.

“Not saying my experience is horn-toot worthy, of course; I’m not one to claim uniqueness, and if I offended anyone older than me by alluding to feeling so old, that wasn’t my intention.”

She pulled her hair down from its messy bun and tilted her head towards her right shoulder, pulling strands of hair at the edge of her left temple towards the light so they could see.

“Besides, I earned these damn gray hairs, and you can’t tell me otherwise.”

She stuck her tongue out playfully and forced back a yawn.

Her gaze fell to FD with his revelation. The catty smile from her childishness fades into a soft, knowing beam.

“I was the same way in junior and senior year, with singing. For the life of me, I couldn’t talk to people every single day of my scholastic life, often hid the pain of being bullied from even my closest mentors, but when I was on that stage? You would have thought I was the most powerful force in the world. I sure felt like it. People would come up to me afterward to tell me how inspiring I was, or to tell me I blew them away, but by that point I had already dissolved back into my former skittishness.”

((It literally takes me so long to respond because I read and reread my post 4 times before I post it--ahhhhh, I need to break that habit!!!))

((EDIT: FORMATTING!!! ARGH!?!!!))

It won't last forever SF there are big events going on till mid June but then things will go back to how they were and this won't happen again for another five years.

*Appreciates the gin and tolerates the other kind gestures*

Uggg:rose:

I played the saxophone in school: junior high, high school and college. I was in the marching band and regular band. I could read music and finger the keys, but I lacked musicality. I never sounded like a sax player. But carrying it around helped me get early registration and paid for tuition for a couple of years in college so I am grateful for that. On the other hand my youngest brother picked it up one day and sounded like a sax player even though he had no idea what he was doing. sigh..

Good to know there is an end in sight.

I get that feeling 100% Uggg. My job is stress all day all the time. The job is a figurative meat grinder. The turnover is so fucking high it is crazy because no one wants to do it.

Chuckles softly as BT appears in a bolt of lighting. Immediately starts humming 'Ride the Lightning'.

"Age is indeed a number, BT. However, the way you live your life absolutely directly impacts how you feel emotionally and physically. I started graying only in the last few years, but I started losing my hair at 26. So I said fuck it and started shaving my head. :p Embrace the bald. haha. Oh, I was never like anyone in my generation either. I was always the old soul. Most people were worried about things that just didn't matter."

Her smile made him grin and nod. He completely understood.

"I immersed myself in everything music. I played for the normal band, I went to state competitions. I played in the school jazz band. I played in marching band. I even had my own death metal band when school was over. I think I covered every Genre of music out there except country, R&b, Rap and the wierd stuff that has been made since I stopped playing because of my health issues."

She giggled at FD’s rendition of “Ride the Lightning” and nodded knowingly.

“I never could connect with my peers, it was terribly lonely, but I learned that it’s better to be alone than lonely in a group of people who don’t understand.”

She chuckled at her own wisdom and shook her head, writing it off as a fluke.

“There’s absolutely nothing wrong with being bald, some guys definitely pull it off. I’m particularly fond of the beard-and-bald look.” She laughed at herself. “But hubby still has his hair, and by gum, I made him grow it out so I could braid it—it’s almost as long as mine! His dad cautioned him that he started balding in his early 30’s, hubby’s knocking on 30 this year, so, we’ll see how that goes.”

Her posture perked up at the mention of Death Metal.

“Really?”

She smiled brightly at Uggg.

"HELLO FRIEND! How is the evening treating you?"

((sorry, I had to write a million words to someone; I'm back!!! Until dinner is ready)).

Hiya BT,

I've had a couple of drinks and my stress levels have dropped. :)

Now I'm drinking hot chocolate and talking to you so things are looking up:D

Looks like you've slid yourself back into lit life quite smoothly.

Some of the people here would be people you used to know right?

Uggg:rose:

do you even need to ask? moving to the couch and sits on the arm so that uggg can sit beside him and he can easily run fingers through his hair. The touch would be good for both of them he was sure.

Morning, All fine and dandy here, thanks...

And how are you?

I owe you a reply but yesterday I got writing on a story.

So apologies.

No need to apologize Boots:). When you're ready is fine.

Are you comfortable with the story still?

It seems popular; it's getting a few views for one with so few posts

Uggg

It is an interesting story line, and for me slightly challenging.

But yes I'm still comfortable.

Grins at her and nods his head.

"Oh yeah. I completely agree. I always felt that way when I tried to fit in with most crowds. That is why I prefer small intimate gatherings of people I know over things like parties or bars. I hated being in a room full of people and somehow being isolated. I would literally rather be at home doing something I enjoy."

Noticing her interest he nods again.

"Yep. I had 4 good friends who we did just about everything together. From D&D, to video games, to our own metal band. We played several local shows and could have done more, but our lead guitarist punked out after school ended."

Morgan Freeman steps up to the mic and narrates BT’s life: “She said she was here, she said until dinner was done she would remain. She was wrong; she was so, so wrong.”

((I’m coming back, I swear. I promise. I’m so sorry; Gods, I’m letting everyone down. Please hold; error 404, BT not found.

-quickly ducks back into my PMs- I’ll be back, I will; I just finished eating. -flutters away awkwardly-))

Sounds like you have been inundated with offers?

I will respond today now that I'm awake, my two rides yesterday, the first in a while took it out of me last night, together with writing on something else of mine.
