The Chinal Pearl Inn part 8

Yes I have a pay as you go nowadays. I too should really wear it on my wrist but it's good to have some sort of tenuous link to the "other world." About three or four times a month I might get a text. *proud*

I have a house phone. My sister, despite me asking her to call on the house phone, loves to send me texts. Maybe once a month she goes on a tear and sends several in a row, usually when I am trying to sleep. Ugh!! I HATE phones.

I do my phone a bit of a disservice. When I had my bad back recently a friend called and said they'd do some shopping for me if I was stuck, so a bit of a life line. I get the occasional call from my mobile phone operator, I don't think they believe I'm not interested in their "marvelous" offers.

Its fun sitting here watching you two chew through the last few hundred posts to 5k;). What a couple of chatter :Dboxes

Yes I'm pretty similar but I like places that have things to go to if I want them but I can certainly empathise with that idea of selective isolation. I've been living that idea for a little while now :)

It was an idea like that as much as anything else that led me to a tiny little green
dot out in the middle of the vast blue open

When I was looking for a place to live I had just come out of a long term care facility so finding a place near a hospital and emergency services was a priority. I found a lot of places that I liked that were small but lacked a hospital. This place was a day's drive from relatives and close to the hospital so it made my relatives a lot more comfortable since I was going off on my own. When I lived near Los Angeles, I stayed home. I went to work, went home, and two or three times a year I went out to lunch with friends. I have always been more comfortable at home. Even when I lived near relatives we only saw each other once or twice a year. I have always been a loner.

There was a time when I would have called myself an extrovert but these days I just can't stand company for long. I need a quiet dark place to retreat to. Crowds make me uncomfortable. I wasn't always like this. It has developed as I have gotten older.

Sometimes I'm fine other times I can hardly stand it. One weekend I might be happy wandering slowly through the market the next weekend I might have every nerve in my body screaming at me to get out of there. I don't know why.

Hi Uggg...we burble. It's our job :)

Retreating is a good thing :)

Yeah, I pay five bucks a month and the minutes just keep rolling over. When I do go back to CA, then I use up the minutes.

I am actually more outgoing now that I am older. There was a time when saying hello to a clerk in a store would have been difficult. Now I am often the person that says hello first. :) But if I am around people too much I get claustrophobic. After spending the holidays with family and friends (even with staying alone at a hotel) it will take me two to three weeks to recover. I find socializing with people to be absolutely exhausting.

You can add as many posts as you want.

Hello, all. :)

It will take me forever to catch up in here, if I ever do.

But, glad to say that it looks like I am back... and my life has completely changed in the last 2 weeks. Amazing.

How are you all?

Hiya dolly:rose: mwau:kiss:,

I'm good.

How are you? I was wondering if maybe we wouldn't see you again.

Boots passed on your message about being away but I still wondered if perhaps you might not come back.
I'm glad you did.

How's hubby and kids?

Uggg:rose:

Morning Dolly

And that is good news.

I'm okay thanks... Glad you are are though.

And news on your husband's health?

Thanks SF and Uggg!

Yes, it was indeed possible that I'd not return. If hubby had nixed it, I'd have honored that. Instead, I get to know that he's "secretly spying" on me and he may even enjoy what he finds. :cattail:

Everyone is good, kids are fine, hubby still needs surgery which is scheduled for next week (and so I may go a bit MIA again then).

But hubby is amazing, and I am amazing, and life is amazing. :rose:

And hi and thanks also, Boots! Hubby has dealt with a couple of different health things this whole week (making his "vacation" less enjoyable than it could and should have been) but surgery is next week so hopefully that won't be an issue much longer.

.
Good morning all :)

Hi CF. Did you have a good weekend?

Fingers crossed for your husband's surgery :)

Now I just need Ruby to come back and RavenTimothy to come back and the whole place will be how it should be again:D

Not heard from Ruby for two weeks...

She said she was gonna be away for a while at the same time as dolly did.

I hope she comes back soon we have started a very ambitious project together.:D
