Real Photo? Fake Image? Other?

Last week I was looking for a photo for a story on Veterans Day and ran across some racy photos of injured troops. There was one guy who lost a leg from the hip down. He had one of those modern prosthetics. His photo was strong, confident, and oh so hot. That photo has carried my self-satisfaction for days. And days. And tripled my normal efforts.

I'm usually one who is aroused by sounds, so this photo caught me off guard. What are your triggers? Is it a real image or your mental creation of an image? Or is it something else altogether?
