The grateful thread

So, as I sit next to the husband in the hospital, watching him talk to someone who isn't there, wondering if I'm grateful for another day.... I will be grateful we are safe in this hospital. Grateful my husband is a 20 year vet. In a really weird way grateful ALS is considered a service connected disease so we receive incredible care.
Recently I've been fretting over your finances in an "Oh like hell she has to deal with that as well" kind of way since you and Mr Cookie live in the USA which we all know has a notoriously barbaric healthcare system. So I'm grateful for your medical sound-ness.

Grateful for my Lit friends who have been a stabilizing force in a week that has been profoundly upsetting.

Grateful for cookie cat. X

Grateful for the love in my life.

Thanks. It's an odd but good thing, the benefits we receive for this disease. Apparently military folks are 30% more likely to get ALS than civilians, so it's considered service connected.

Today I am grateful for being able to rest when not feeling 100 percent.

Same here. I'm lying in my own bed, window slightly open, sun shining - it feels good just to rest.

Hope you feel better.

Hugs to Elle and cb, too.

Today, I'm grateful for places like this thread where I can escape, even if only virtually, from all the things happening of late.

Thanks everybody for being here!

I am so glad you could get some rest :rose:

Today I am grateful to have someone in my corner telling me to stay in bed. Having people pleasing tendencies I have in the past tended to try to carry on when perhaps I shouldn't.

I am sleeping a lot and every time I wake up, dear Master has unpacked some more, or fixed something, and I am very grateful

...for getting my 80 year old parents moved into a very nice apartment...for the comfort of friends during a turbulent week...for phone calls out of the blue even if unintended

Grateful for cold weather, snuggly kitties, a soft, comfy bed and SLEEP!
And now I'm about to be grateful for Bailey's and coffee :)

grateful today for a soft bed, the internet, and a job (all the moreso because it's a day off!)

also the unexpected kindness of people

:rose:

I am grateful for memories that sustain me of times with those who are important to me

I have been reading memoirs lately, mainly from the 19th century. I want to add being grateful for relatively simple food, and a disposable income (no matter what the size). And sweet women's liberation!! Oh, the freedoms we take for granted...

Someone said washing machines and I second that. So very much.
Also, internet šŸ˜

Edit: oh, it was you Elle! *laughs*
