The Lounge's Summer Pool Party!!

glances at Essie from her position out at sea, floating

You must be a real lightweight, girl.

giggles

Surfaces from the pool, grinning at the wondrous, magical nature of Brit's pool party.

Good call, Des!

E-Essie? You okay there? Monroe! I think she needs some water. And a lie-down. Gulp

That's it. I'm surfing this.

Just one more swim, and one more drink...Hell, I'm confident in my masculinity. I can cope with something pink and frosted. Yes, go on then, Monroe. Stick an umbrella in it, why don't you?

Drains rest of glass, flinging it over her shoulder where it lands in tall pot plant.

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I'm a scarlet butterfly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unsteadily spreads arms out wide and prepares to launch herself into the air.... only to be stopped by Monroe holding onto the ties of her bikini top, leaving her effectively dangling in midair over the pool, arms flapping not so gracefully....

lets the waves carry her back and forth across the pool, giggling merrily the whole time

I should see what else this place has!

Starts screeching with laughter at Essie's current position, and Monroe's current predicament.

Monroe, when you're done with her and Des' order . . . bring me a kopparberg. Time to face my fear.

<Crosses fingers.> Please have a pedalo shaped like a swan or something similar. And an inflatable banana boat. And a little island with fountains. And a flume. And a whirlpool. Or at least one of those. Please.

Yes, I am a child at heart when it comes to summer and swimming pools. I'm not ashamed. Not me.

<Blushes slightly as Monro hands him an enormous, frosted Cosmopolitan, complete with cherry.> Um...thanks. What was I saying?

Stops still in mid-takeoff, being pulled back to vertical by a grinning Monroe, who puts an inflatable dolphin rubber ring around her hips and attaches floaties to her arms, helping her into the shallow end of the pool where there are only little waves.

Look, I'm a dolphin, wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Uh oh....

Somehow manages to flip upside down, scarlet bikini bottom now poking up in the air, little feet waggling madly

giggles, pulling herself out of the water

I'm sure some of those things, or at least things very similar, will be around here somewhere and there's nothing to be ashamed of! Summer is painfully short and usually the days to enjoy the pool are few and far between. All the more reason to make those days as fun as possible.

grins at him and his drink

I'll go look and see what I can find in the storage room. Back in a jiffy although...I might need help carrying stuff.

pauses

I'll yell if I need extra hands.

snickers

Monroe's might still be full at that point.

Happy to help, but I'll hang back until needed. Wouldn't want to get in the way.

Besides, Monroe looks as if he can handle you. Er...I mean, it. Yes, that.

Ooooh oooh please tell me this pool also doubles as a home theater, where a giant screen will appear if I clap my hands three times and state the film I want to see because why wouldn't you have that, really?

tickles Essie's feet before jumping out of the pool to brave the cider

Air bubbles start to come to the surface as the waves make it impossible for a tipsy wee dolphin to figure out which way she should be facing...

Give me a shout if you need a hand, Brit! I could do with getting up and making myself a nice cold drink anyway.

begins to float towards the decking again

I'm supposed to be working on replies in my roleplays... Instead of floating around...

sighs and relaxes back in the warm water

comes back looking slightly ruffled, followed by a guilty looking Monroe

before anything else, she heads to the pool to right Essie and move her to sit on a step in the water

Well I found most of the things on Des' list. There's actually a small dock around the corner with a couple of boats, some pedaloes and a banana boat! Woo hoo!

Hiccups and coughs on the step

Thank you, Brit.

Beckons her closer

Psst... I think there was something more than tea in my iced tea *nod nods earnestly*

<Enters in DJ, bow tie somewhat askew, guitar in one hand and a tall G+T in the other. Slips off shoes and socks, dips feet into pool, places drink carefully by side, and begins to play gently to the deserted pool - or perhaps to accompany his own thoughts.>

Having vowed never to visit Long Island or drink any beverages from there, sitting on steps of beach hut, wrapped in a light blanket under the dark night sky, the stars a perfect accompaniment to Brit's fairy lights and bulbs strong across the nearby pool deck.

Pads across to hammock on hut porch, carefully climbs in and arranges blanket, hugs Ted close and falls asleep to the gentle rocking of the hammock and the soothing crashing of the ocean waves.

Oh, what it is to have time to one's self for what feels like a long while. How shall I spin the merry hours?

<Carefully removes jacket, tie and trousers, places them far away from the pool to avoid splashes, and then simply leaps into the pool. At this hour, the water is cool, and the hairs rise on his arms.>

Tip-toes in, at once noticing alluring red drifting across the water. Decides to sit down cross-legged by the pool with a bowl of cherries, not quite as vibrant in colour, observing the current occupants thoughtfully.

Current is the word, Ms Starry-Eyed. I do hope Ms Serpentine is not going to be carried out to sea in that alarming rip-tide.

<Calls out to the Millais replica.> Are you all right? Do you need a hand?

Brandishes her binoculars suddenly, desperately searching for her friend, to no avail.

Des . . . we have a problem.

Ah. But, given her Ophelia reference, does she want to be rescued?

I'd better not take the risk, had I? After all...anyway. Back in a sec.

<Dives, expertly. After almost a minute, locates Ms. Serpentine tangled in giant seaweed. Very inexpertly tears her free, and shoots to the surface with her, before half pushing, half carrying her to the side.>

Um...sorry to be a coward, Ms. Starry-Eyed, but could you do the resuscitation honours? I'd rather not be mistaken for a pervert...
