The New Isolated Blurt BDSM Thread

Arguably, but that hasn't stopped anyone else before. Why should you let such details get in your way? :D

Yeah, 41 percent of the posts on this thread have been categorized by the Thread Council as either "whiny" or "very bitchy." So it's part of the ecosystem, BB. Additionally, it spares those in our meat lives from killing us.

I've been in the mood to veg, so have been watching sort of mindless television. In this vein I've pulled up Twin Peaks on Netflix. I've never seen it before, and have always been curious, particularly as it's getting a reboot next year.

I'm three episodes in and have one question. Was it meant to be some sort of spoof when it was made?

I decided against making a thread because...meh. Not that important.

Mostly, I'm just upset because I desperately need some money, and it's not coming in right now. So if anybody's got any suggestions on how to come up with money for my rent in the next week or so, I'm all ears.

The alternative is moving back in with my parents, and let's be real--that's no alternative at all.

Any chance of selling copies of "10 Secrets for Getting Your Woman off Like a Rocket"?

It's spelled "l-a-b-e-l," people. Come on, get it right just this once, ok? Next time, I promise, it will be easier.

English is your seventeenth language. You get a little more leeway. :rose:

Just not too much leeway, lest I revert to txtspk. :)

I get it though. I'm constantly irritated by a couple of misspellings people make in Finnish, too. It's not even like our spelling is the multilayered mess that English spelling is. Hypercorrection explains most of the mistakes, but some of them really are an eyesore.

Indeed, and I suspect that "lable" is an hypercorrection in many cases. Still bothers my eyes, though.

Some people just don't have the spelling gene. I'm one of them. Math, sciences, other stuff, no problem. Spelling, not so much. *shrug* It could be worse. I would rather understand the world around me than simply know how to spell it :) I usually do ok, but I'm nowhere near perfect.
All that said, there is shit that bothers me, like "alot" and too/to.

Bingo!

Me to!

Almond milk does not color coffee the way that cream or whole milk does. But Truvia is a satisfactory sweetener in place of demon sugar. This is all experimental, as I ordinarily take my coffee black.

I can drink it that way, which is a plus. I'm unpleasantly allergic to most artificial sweeteners (bring back cyclamates, they didn't try to kill me). I still splurge occasionally and have tea with real cream & sugar, but I mostly doctor my coffee with some kind of ungodly fat free Coffee Mate.

I need to quit that though, I really do. My blood sugar spikes like crazy after 1 cup of coffee with CM. Need to see what happens with Truvia and a touch of almond milk.

Let me know if you like it. The Truvia box says that each packet has the sweeteing oomph of two packets of sugar - it's pretty sweet stuff. I didn't really care for the sweetened taste, but I never use sugar in my coffee so I'm a lousy judge.

Misspellings jump out at me because checking the written word is a large part of my job. Although they're milldly irritating, my real pet hate is 'must of' instead of 'must have'. How can anyone think that 'I must of been tired' is correct??

I HATE THAT ONE, TOO.

Also, "all the sudden." Really? Really?

Does anyone really misspell label with lable? Really?

No that I have any room to criticize. I’ve noticed a distressing tendency lately to swap out “your” and “you’re”. I have no idea why.

Maybe the cycling cold weather is freezing my brain. :(

To complicate this whole issue for me, I grew up reading very, VERY old books. I'm talking F looking things for S, and very loose spelling. And I love that, I feel most comfortable reading books that I sort of have to stumble through every now and then, takes me right back to some very happy days. Yet, written now, one letter can discomfit me :p
Aren't we JUST so lucky to be human and complex? :D

F's and S's?? :D :D

That reminded me of this - I mentioned this show to MWY on his 'laughs' thread.....
