I think I need to make an (almost) New Years resolution to post on here a bit more and keep it a bit higher in the thread list....

Has anyone been reading the insider/outsider thread? It's been a bit surprising to me to see posters who are well established on other boards saying that they don't feel welcome on the bdsm board, even though they've tried to become part of it.

Do we need to make bit more of an effort to make our fellow bdsmers feel at home?

So, what's occurring?
Well, someone at my nilla job saw on Facebook, someone had listed me as attending a fetish fair.
I'm being pulled in for a "chat" tomorrow.
FFS, this is the 21st century (or so I thought)

Looks like I will be fully out whether I want to or not by this time tomorrow, as far as I'm concerned, I am doing nothing wrong, I have a right to a private life, but as they wish to bring my private to life into work, they will probably regret taking on a qualified advocate!

Let's hope that I make a couple of sales off the back of it lol!

Will update after I have had the meeting

Mine doesn't as in my "day job" with a strict social network code of conduct.

I don't mention anything on FB, sadly it was picked up because another trader listed me as attending.

The human rights act is my friend, they have no legal right to ask about my private life. As long as I am doing nothing illegal or that can impact the company negatively, they can't do much.
I am pissed off and ready to be very belligerent!

So exactly what was the person who saw the listing with your name on searching for?? Surely you don't come across fetish fair trader listings accidentally?

Whoa, that sounds well out of order Daisy, I thought the dark ages were long gone. I don't see how the way you choose to spend your life is anything to do with them, particularly as there's no reflection back on the company. I suspect it's come to light and they've no idea how to deal with it, so they're overreacting in completely the wrong way. Beligerant usually put them straight pretty quickly. A couple of years back, our HR dept sent round a questionaire on religion, ehtnicity, and sexual orientation, to support their drive to become a better 'equal rights' employer. I gave it back saying that what I chose to stick where, and who I choose to stick it with, was no concern of theirs. They went sort of sheepish, and never asked again. Anyway, lots of support coming your way from this corner.

Daisy, sorry to hear about your troubles, sounds like someone looking to cause trouble just for the sake of causing it. Why I keep my FB under a very tight lock and key. Some people just live to cause problems.

It's really miserable here - days come and go without getting light at all and it seems to affect everyone's mood. I'd much rather have a foot of snow and bright sunshine than this dreary damp grey.

Lally, know what you mean about the grey, it's miserable here too (not that far away). Sun and snow does sound nice, especially if you can get up to the lakes, or out Saddleworth way, and get some fresh air to go with it
