Well, to be honest, I was also being a bit self serving... no one has thrown a snap kick at me in weeks and my reflexes might be a little rusty. :eek::D

I make my way down from my loft the day already warm and promising to be a sweltering summers day. I make my way to the coffee pot surrendering to that dark rich aroma. I slowly sip my morning coffee as I look for a post or two to answer yet find none. with a sigh I settle in my old leather chair by the heart a very long and idle day ahead of me.

Morning all and to any hiding in the shadows.
 
I bet you do Razor;) More than alloys it needs a redesign in target accusation and firing on the move.
 
Wonderful machines but slow and confined by there size the poor little Sherman so weak yet like flees they kill by numbers and swarming.

Well, the basic idea would be four legs with the bases made up of heavily modified Light Tanks. Basically, made strong enough to support the Maus' weight, and fast enough to give it added mobility, on legs that can be moved to suit needs. This would also give you a method of making it stationary for firing.
 
Ahh but the key is firing on the move and at speed.;)

If you have to be stationary then your a target Razor.

Hence the lighter, stronger armor. But the raised tank on four legged treads also add stability for firing while moving.
