The Sleeping Beauty Trilogy - A. N. Roquelaure

Ginger, of course!

Or possibly, cinnamon extract diluted in a light oil, like almond or walnut oil. You would have to compound it on your own, I imagine-- and remember that cinnamon can be really harsh stuff, even to the point of raising blisters. You could try a couple of cinnamon hots dissolved in water glycerine...

This has the ring of experience to it.

Ginger is fun! I'm going for the itch, though, and not the burn. Figging doesn't have the desired effect, in my experience. I'll have to try the cinnamon oil, and I know I have glycerin in the pantry. Perhaps a minty toothpaste, the chalky, pasty kind, would suffice for my purposes.

 I do like to tinker around...

But Cinnamon burns, not itches. And in fact, I can't think of what else might stimulate an itchy sensation on mucous membranes. Itches are a dermal reaction, according to wikipedia. You could induce an itch on the external stuff, like labia or asshole using itching powder... but if you do that, pleeeeeeze don't let it get inside of anything! Itching powder is made up of tiny hairs from a couple of plants. Your mucous linings don't have any protection to keep them from working their way under the surface! Bad, bad!

Ouch. -crosses legs-

Might give this series a try . Sounds rather interesting for mindless type reading.

It really is. I actually enjoyed the rest of the series very much. It's not a difficult read by any stretch of the imagination and it's never going to be one of the greatest series ever written but the books are certainly worth a try at least.

My fanfiction writing friends have a term; "Id-fic" which is when the writing illuminates the desires of the writer- possibly more than the writer is comfortable with...

Rice has never been happy that women love the Sleeping Beauty books so much! She had a signing for... probably that series with the New Orleans witch family with the possession or something? Taltos? and was horrified at the group of ladies who showed up in renfaire garb to ask her to sign the SB books.

I know I shouldn't laugh but...
HAAAA HA HA hahaha hee hee!

That would have been awesome to see!

I read these years ago, I think. I liked the second book best -- introduction to pony play for the win!

I liked the first book for the introducing a new, not entirely willing (but not unwilling!) person to kink but I'm not that into male/female het style D/s so much of the first book, and the ending didn't do much for me. The third book ... I read it but none of the kinks etc stood out to me, that much.

They're very fantasy oriented -- many of the things done there would be difficult at best in RL and there are issues that Rice has that show up in the books that I'm less comfortable with now that I'm older and more thoughtful. However, they are a fun read and I find the faux fantasy lyrical style of writing more appealing than the more traditional style of porn.

Alas, I dislike Rice as an author so I don't read her work anymore. Never mind the fact that I have no interest whatsoever in her new conversion to whatever flavor of gothic Christianity is currently floating her boat.

I like that term. :)

Revealling what's hidden in the chaos, in the dark, basic corners of the brain.

I like that, and could apply it to myself. Frightens me a bit really to think what may be lurking deep in those recesses of my own mind.

Think for now, I will read the darker side of "chick lit" and carry on in the fantasy world. Who knows what will happen then.
