It’s called the 4B movement, and it originated in South Korea when many young women, facing true gender barriers, intense social coercion toward marriage, and widespread male partner violence, swore off dating men, getting married, having sex, and having children altogether. It picked up steam in some pockets of TikTok before the election, but, as reported by the New York Times, U.S. interest in the 4B movement has truly exploded since Trump’s surprising landslide victory.

Thing is, in South Korea (and other Asian countries) its got a sound basis in reality and it's cultural. A lot of South Korean men ARE violent, there is a lot of social coercion and there are REAL gender barriers. Same in Japan, and in China, where a lot of young women are staying single. It really is cultural - I dated one Chinese guy back at Uni, and jeez, he needed a mom, not a girlfriend, and the attitude.... I have a few Chinese friends from HK and China, and one Japanese friend, and they loved it here - didn't want to go home at all. Go figure....

It's hilarious that the entire issue boils down to these women wanting the freedom to fuck guys all the time, but then decide that to 'punish men', they're just going to abstain from their own desires.

The movement was doomed from the start, because these women by definition have no self control. And those that do have the self control already know that any lack of abortion services isn't actually a big deal, because they already know how to not get pregnant in the first place.

I only saw some video’s on youtube of women cutting off their hair, which I thought was a very odd way to protest whatever they are protesting. It will be refreshing once these people grow up a little and realize, no one cares.

I don't know if this is allowed there, but I would like to point out that I have created a Thread on ‘4B Movement’ as a potential Story Idea.
Story Idea. As is well known, we see a widespread trend on social media around the so-called ‘4B movement’ in the US. We're not talking politics here, just eroticism.
In a nutshell: imitating the project of a group of South Korean feminists, who in the mid-2010s proposed to say 4 ‘no’ to males: no dating men, no sex with men, no giving birth, no marriage with men. (Sorry, I don't know anything about East Asia: maybe the kind and talented ChloeTzang may teach us something more).
The current wave of interest seems to be caused by a very hasty reading of the male electorate's vote: that they should ‘be punished’ for 4 years, to ‘learn a hard lesson’.
STORY IDEA(S).
A group of women solemnly swear to keep those oaths for four years. Some are young, some mature: some are lesbian or bisexual, some are married to a husband (!).
The action moves into the future: summer 2028. Those who were lesbians have no difficulty, but the straight ones do: four years without a male weighs heavily, especially in the last summer.
What will happen to the women in the group?
