The Treehouse of the Cove

I jump at the sound of your voice. Nearly dropping a burger off the spatula and onto the deck of the balcony. I blush as you must've seen me dancing while grilling and being silly.

Uh...how long were you there watching me make a fool of myself?

I turn back to the grill and flipping the burgers over.

Your supper will be ready soon. Can you get the beers from the fridge and start setting the table, darling?

Long enough.

Smiling at you with a wink before walking over to kiss your cheek and then going to get the beers and set the table.

Sorry seems to wasn't quite done with me.

We both have things pulling us away. No worries though. No matter how long they drag us away we're both homing pigeons we'll find our way back home with the other.

Once the burgers start to feel like they're just perfectly done so they're juicy and tasty I put two slices of swiss on mine and ask you.

Do you want cheese on yours?

I climb into the treehouse. A thin smile on my lips, framing my thin oval face. There is mischief in my eye as I saunter to bar. “Whiskey. Neat.” I state the bartender. As I turn to survey the dwelling.

Always finding our way home to each other.

The havarti on mine love.

Private dwelling for Veroe and myself. Goodbye thank you.

Gotcha.

I put the slices of havarti on your burger. Then as our cheese gets nicely melted over the burger patties and then taking the kabobs off the grill as well and then starting to build our burgers. Buns, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, ketchup and mustard...I even have bacon.

Do you want bacon on yours, beautiful.

Bacon sounds wonderful.

Table ready beers ready to be opened and a fruit salad ready in the fridge as I set it out.

Got it.

I walk over to the table with two plates. One with our bacon cheeseburgers, and the other plate with the grilled veggies from the kabobs.

The sun was setting and the stars were just starting to come out. I place the plates on the table for us.

I then go back in and come out with two candles to give our dinner a romantic candle-lit air under the clear starry night sky.

A soft smile and a kiss.

It's perfect love.

Sitting down beside you and staring out over the jungle then into your eyes.

I have missed this so much.

I have too.

I lift my bear bottle off the table pulled off the cap and raised for you to answer in an answering salute.

Here's to not having to miss this again for a while.

We really should enjoy more time here at home.

Clinking beer bottles with you then taking a sip before beginning to eat.

Perfect as always my sexy singing chef

Color returns to my cheeks as you remind me of just what you witnessed me doing. I look down at the food between us and my stomach growls. I smile to you, commenting.

Let's dig in.

Enjoying a wonderful meal with you in the moonlight. So peaceful and perfect.

We should dance again together one night

Oh yes, we will dance right here under the stars as soon as we finish supper.

(Sorry was nodding off last night)

Would you like some of the grilled vegetables?

I lift a plate of the corn, asparagus, pepper slices and cherry tomatoes sprinkled with crumbled feta cheese and julienned herbs.

Absolutely.

Getting a serving of the vegetables and motioning to the fruit salad topped with sliced strawberries

I get some of the veggies myself and some of the fruit salad then lift up the burger and take a hefty bite and smile over to you.

Okay maybe burgers aren't exactly the most romantic meal we could have but I've been feeling the need to try out that grill.

Oh I figured when I had that addition made of a nearly complete outdoor kitchen of a grill you would not be able to resist for long.

A wink before taking a bite of the veggies.

God bless your foresight.

I wink back lifting my beer for another drink.

A wink and holding up a slice of strawberry for you.

A smile as I finish eating enjoying this long over due peace and closeness

This is nice. The two of us eating under the stars together.

I reach out and my fingers caress yours lovingly as we continue eating our supper.
