Fine here, thanks - how's everyone else?

Off shopping in a bit then heading up to Lytham - parents are both buried there and it's Mums anniversary this weekend, so taking some flowers up to the grave. Which, when I read it back, sounds a bit grim but it isn't really - it's a pretty village to visit and if we get wrapped up warm, there's a lovely walk from the church through some gardens out along the bank of the estuary. On a clear day you can see right out to sea and across to Southport. And there are wonderful places to eat and some interesting stores, including a really good 'alternative' shop that I've been going to for years. So it should be an ok kind of day :)

Well, I shall hope the day is as good as you hope it will be!

I shall be doing housework so the place is in a decent state for my wife being here for, potentially, the longest consecutive set of days she has been home in the last few months... Alas, while I am not.

But I have decided to be a devil and have bacon sandwiches for breakfast / lunch to steel myself for the day ahead :)

Hi all. Cool thread.

I'm supposed to be dieting but pizza is calling to me from the freezer. I cleared my cupboards and fridge of 'bad' food but I forgot about the freezer... till today. I'm a mite hungover too though and I reckon pizza will totally fix that.

Enjoy your bacon sarnies.

Oh, I did.

They'll hurt my diet this week but I am not bothered :)

Enjoy the pizza :)

I'm doing nicely, thanks! Did a five mile run first thing this morning, and now I'm making Sunday lunch whilst my wife gets on with some gardening.

Hi seven! I'm new to this thread too, but I've already found it to be a most friendly and welcoming place. :)

Ah, I am not yet up to running. Was going to go for a long walk in the country this afternoon but not sure my back would stand up to the pace my friends and I usually push for. Which is a shame as the sun just came out.

And yes, we try to make this place friendly :)

Looks pretty friendly to me :)

Don't think I'll be going on any country walks today. Might pop outside for a ciggie if that counts.

I would have said it was fresh air.... were it not for the nicotine, particulates, tar, etc. that you're going to be breathing in with it. But if there's sun at least it will promote Vitamin D production assuming you don't swaddle up too much ;)

Well I smoke roll-ups, so they're not stuffed with hazardous chemicals. I of course know that smoking's bad for me but I only smoke 3 or 4 a day, tops. Just keeps me from stressing out and killing people, which makes them better for people's health than you might think. Sunshine will be nice though, and hopefully a 'nice breeze' that's not in fact a force ten gale.

Ah yes, those kind of "light breezes" Last time someone talked to me about a light breeze I ended up cresting a ridge in the Peak District and damn near falling on my back.

Fun fun fun :)

So what does this fine day hold for you?

Hiya everyone

Welcome Seven xx

A day of housework awaits me (boo) the place is a tip and of course I am the only person to do anything to do a thing about it.

The sun is out, I might take a stroll round sainsburys later to get something for sunday dinner :)

Last nights chinese for lunch

Afternoon Daisy

Housework here is progressing slowly but surely. I shall hopefully have the place looking spic and span by the time I leave tomorrow. :)

Ahh the trip to Sweden :) I hope you get time to enjoy it.
I have managed to do upstairs, but spirit and body are losing the will to do the living room.
Doesn't help that hubs is sprawled on the couch doing nowt.

Wanted to go to the peer rope workshop, but that doesn't look like its happening now :(

Ah, Sheffield's one was yesterday. Which is a pain as it's the same saturday every month and i have an engagement that clashes.... every month.

I have stopped for a cuppa. The rest of the house can wait for 30 minutes while i relax and re-stock my e-reader.

I have stopped for a cuppa.

I've stopped for a cuppa too! Lunch is completed, the washing-up is done, and I've just finished mowing the lawn on a lovely sunny afternoon. Tea tastes particularly good after that, and a chocolate biscuit might not go amiss. :)

I am sure they will go down a treat.

Well I think I've polluted the atmosphere enough for one day.

Gonna sit here now and revisit 'Life on Mars' for an hour or two.

Afternoon everyone - welcome seven.

Just got back after a surprisingly enjoyable day. After leaving cold, grey Manchester, we arrived to find Lytham basking under bright blue skies and very warm sunshine. So after depositing the flowers we walked into the village, had a great lunch, and then pottered around the shops awhile before walking for an hour along the seafront. I used to travel up there every couple of weeks when Mum was still alive, but now it's only on anniversaries. I'd forgotten how pleasant it can be - should do it more often.

But now I've read about you all being industrious and doing the housework whilst I've been enjoying myself, I'm looking around my house feeling very guilty!

Never mind - the chores will still be there tomorrow :D

Alas, chores never go away. It's quite depressing.

Glad you had a good time!

Have given up on downstairs and instead tried to do a deep tissue massage on my tendon. There are masses of adhesions so hopefully it has done some good.

Food for the kids now, cheese omlet methinks.
They have both been good today.

I sincerely hope that it has. :)

For what it's worth, I gave my wife some leg massage yesterday after she was feeling painful stiffness from a run in the morning. I'm not qualified to do deep tissue work, but I did the basics, and my wife said this morning that she was feeling a lot better. Of course, this was muscle rather than tendon trouble, but hopefully it's still encouragement that massage can be effective.

I am not qualified per se, but I know anatomy quite well and was showed by a physio how, I am one of those that friends go to sort their back problems out when physio hasn't worked lol. I seem to have a knack for finding the problem and sorting it out.

I want some tlc but I doubt it somehow.
Sounds like your day was good in a bittersweet way. I'm glad it went well and the weather was on your side :)
