The Wallflower and The Star Athlete (closed for Poprockz)

Breakfast with his family had been fine, even if meeting his sister was nerve-wracking. However, her nerves soon became unfounded as his sister seemed to have taken an instant liking to her. Jane had excitedly proposed that they should all go shopping, to which Olivia had agreed easily. Shopping seemed like a good activity that would keep their focus split, thus keeping things from getting too awkward. Thus, the family headed to the mall near the stadium in their rented car.

Even though she was free from the financial strain she had been forced to live with, spending money still didn't come easily to her. She mostly window-shopped, looking over items with vague curiosity before moving on. Jane didn't seem to have such qualms, decisively grabbing things she wanted before purchasing them. It wasn't as though she was going on a spree, but it did seem as though she was splurging a bit, at least from Olivia's perspective.

Adrian walked through the stadium gates, his coach beside him, their steps measured and deliberate as they took in the bustling atmosphere of the National Championships. The air buzzed with excitement; flags and banners waved in the stands, and the unmistakable scent of fresh grass and rubber track mixed with the faint, distant echoes of cheers. Dressed in his race uniform, Adrian felt a calm intensity settle over him. Today was Day 1 — the first and second rounds of the 100 meters. He was ready.

As he made his way to the athletes’ warm-up area, he noted the energy around him. Competitors were stretching, some with headphones in, others in quiet contemplation. Adrian’s face remained focused, his eyes fixed ahead, a routine he’d honed from years of competition. His coach patted him on the back, offering a nod that conveyed everything: trust, confidence, and a reminder of the endless hours of preparation leading up to this moment.

Soon, Adrian lined up for his first heat. The crowd’s roar swelled as the race announcer introduced each competitor, but he barely registered it. He sank into his stance, focusing on the lane ahead. With the gunshot, he exploded forward, his strides powerful and precise. Within seconds, he crossed the finish line, winning his heat with ease. He rose, breathing steady, and jogged back, meeting his coach’s approving nod. Round one, done.

Hours later, Adrian returned to the starting blocks for the second round. The stands were packed, and he could feel eyes on him — those of his family and his girlfriend, Olivia, who had come to support him. He didn’t look up, knowing that his focus had to remain on the race. Once again, the sound of the starting gun fired, and he surged forward, a blur of motion and strength. He was in control, maintaining his lead with each stride, and crossed the finish line comfortably, securing his place in the semi-finals. A quick exhale escaped him as he glanced at the time on the board, satisfied with his performance.

Adrian made his way off the track, the adrenaline still buzzing in his veins. After briefly talking strategy with his coach, he spotted his family in the crowd, waving him over. His parents, beaming with pride, stood arm-in-arm. His sister, Jane, clapped, her face lit with excitement, and Olivia smiled warmly, her eyes filled with admiration. He walked over to them, his breathing steadying as the thrill of competition gave way to a feeling of quiet contentment. They didn’t need words; their presence alone was enough.

They had eventually left the mall to get to the stadium early. They didn't want to miss his races, after all. It was about lunchtime by then, so she and Jane went to the stands and got some food for themselves and the rest of the family before returning and simply spending time with one another, watching some of the other events before it was time for Adrian's.

When it was finally his turn, she watched with rapt attention. God, he was so fast! It was breathtaking to watch, and it felt like she was seeing a different side to him. He looked determined, focused, and self-assured. It made her heart beat more quickly to seem him doing his passion, more so when he came out on top. His legs were so powerful! It was as though he knew exactly how much energy to put in so that he won, but not by too much. She imagined that part of the game was controlling oneself from not going all-out unless it was necessary.

She blew him a kiss when he wandered closer to them, knowing that he wouldn't have been able to hear anything unless he climbed over the little wall and into the VIP section itself. He wasn't going to get to go back together with them just yet though- there was a break in the interim where all the athletes were expected to listen about the history of the stadium, as well as to get the current standing of each of the athletes.

By the time they got him back, it was dinnertime. They didn't go out anywhere fancy, knowing that he was likely exhausted by the physical and emotional toll of the day. As such, a simple, quiet dinner was done before they all went back to their own rooms and went to bed. Of course Olivia made sure to tell him how cool he looked when he was running, giving him his normal, "I love you," before they fell asleep in each other's arms.

The dinner following Adrian's first day of races was cozy and intimate, a peaceful contrast to the intensity of the day. His family and Olivia gathered around a modest table at a small, quiet restaurant near the stadium. Adrian’s parents were visibly proud, and his sister, Jane, chatted excitedly about his races, her enthusiasm warming the room. Olivia was by his side, beaming with admiration. She playfully teased him about his “movie-star stride” and how his calm, focused expression made him look cooler than ever. In the quiet of their hotel room afterward, Olivia told him she loved him, and they drifted off in each other’s arms, content and ready for Day 2.

The next day brought an air of even greater anticipation as Adrian arrived at the stadium for the semi-finals and final round of the 100 meters. He felt the usual pre-race nerves fluttering, but his mind was set: he had a place in the finals to secure. He could feel Olivia and his family’s support, even from afar, as he stepped into the warm-up area. His coach ran over the strategy, reminding Adrian to stick to his rhythm, conserve energy early, and surge only when necessary.

The semi-finals came and went with Adrian crossing the finish line second, securing his spot in the finals. When the time finally came for the ultimate showdown, the stands were packed, the excitement electric. Adrian knew he was up against some of the best, and he reminded himself to give it everything.

As the gun fired, Adrian surged from the blocks, matching the leaders stride for stride. The race was neck-and-neck, the athletes’ focus and raw speed on full display. In the final 20 meters, Adrian pushed harder, feeling his muscles burn as he drove himself forward. When he crossed the finish line, he glanced up, catching sight of the scoreboard — third place. Relief and pride washed over him. While the win had eluded him, he’d still earned a podium finish.

Adrian rejoined his family, breathless but fulfilled. Olivia hugged him, pride shining in her eyes. His family celebrated his hard work, and Adrian felt a sense of satisfaction settle over him.

They went to a very, very extravagant dinner, one where just looking at the menu made Olivia feel like she might go bankrupt. However, Adrian's parents announced that the dinner was a celebratory dinner and thus was on them, and that they could order whatever they wanted. Jane seemed to have no problem with this, but Olivia still felt a bit hesitant. A reassuring look from Adrian made her feel better though, so she took a deep breath and ordered. She even ordered an appetizer, though they each ordered a different one and shared.

Once the dinner was over and they were thoroughly satisfied. She and Adrian hugged his family goodbye. Jane held out a little gift back for Adrian and surprisingly also for Olivia as well. They contained various things Jane had purchased at the mall on their previous trip. They thanked her and headed back to the hotel. It had been a really long day, so Adrian had gone to the bathroom to take a shower.

While he was in there...

Olivia put on the sexy red lingerie, the backside of the panties being a stringy little thong. It felt a bit odd to wear something like that, but she hoped he would appreciate it. She nervously paced until she heard the shower turn off. She laid herself sideways on the bed in what she imagined was a sexy pose. Truth be told, she looked a bit stiff and nervous.
