LT, seriously, what does Newt Gingrich's personal life have to do with this discussion?

I blame NAFTA
Your intellectual dishonesty knows no bounds.
You claim here that Carter's job increases came from the previous administration, but then you refuse to acknowledge that Obama inherited a major jobs downturn from the previous administration. Hmmmm. Yeah, oh and you declined to acknowledge the effect that the TWO ENERGY CRISES had on the US economy during Carter's administration - one whose lingering effects hampered him at the start, and one that got him in 1979. Oh, and there was also that oil surplus in the 1980s that helped Reagan - you left that part out.
Ehm, Newt Gingrich was cheating on his wife at the same time. Let's not talk about Newt, Monica and Billy boy in the same sentence, 'k? Lest I also remind you of all the Republican pedophiles that have been busted since then.
Eh, no it didn't. The Internet revolution, sparked in part from liberal Democrat funding efforts, came roaring into action, and was a huge creator of jobs.
Eh, no it did not. Job creation was the worst in decades under his administration. Well documented fact right there. Plus the national debt skyrocketed. Under a totally Republican-dominated Government.
Damn. You're good at making your side look really stupid.
You brought up Clinton's personal life. Or did you forget writing this:LT, seriously, what does Newt Gingrich's personal life have to do with this discussion?
at least when Monica wasn't pulling on something else
Factually wrong. The banks that collapsed were outside of the Democrat-created CRA laws. CRA loans actually did better than non-CRA loans. You're joking right, surely you can't be serious.
Obama's jobs downturn came from the democrat policy of 'liberal loans' advocated the Barney Frank
None of Obama's policies made anything worse. Unemployment is not twice was it was under Bush. Did you look up what the rate was in December of 2008?which in turn caused the real estate burst when so many of those "deserving" couldn't figure out how to pay the loans back. His followup policies actually made it worse and put us in the situation we're in now with an unemployment rate twice what it was under Bush. Nuance all you want, but the truth is clear for most thinking people.
They increased internet funding which is directly responsible for it coming out into the commercial world. Read, and be educated:The internet came out of a DOD program at DARPA. The democrats have been trying to kill the DOD for many years and both Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton came pretty close to succeeding. When something actually came out of it, they tried to take credit for it (Al Gore the Charlatan).
Error. Reagan jumped us up 4 trillion dollars. You want to compare Reagan's debt to Obama's? Obama's debt in 2 years exceeds Reagan's for 8.
Wow, you just completely ran away from the fact that the national debt skyrocketed under Bush and the Republican Congress.Even more than that, Reagan kept trying to keep a lid on spending and fought with Congress over it.
Uh, no, you're wrong again. Bush's annual job growth was 0.9 percent. That's almost the worst, ever. Regular pattern? You're bullshitting again.Bush lost a whole bunch of jobs at the begining of his administration due to the impact of the large tax increase from Clinton and the bombing of the world trade center, but after he implemented the tax reduction, jobs started returning in a fairly regular pattern.
Do you ever wonder why it is that Republican congressmen are viewed even more poorly than Democrats in every possible poll?Dems would complian "There were only 125,000 jobs created this month...that's not enough"....they complained so loud and frequently that some independents actually listened. Now the dems say "We only lost 100,000 jobs last month, now that's progress!" The truth is simple and clear to see. Democrats destroy the economy and shouldn't ever be put in positions of leadership and most people (judging by polls) recognize this. As AJ is so fond of saying, if we let the dems have a quick shot of leadership, they'll screw up so badly it will be another generation before they get elected again". It worked.
Oh yeah, because living comfortably and having a good retirement is the worst possible thing that could happen.LT's solution is for us to make eveyone a police officer (or other government employee) and then everyone would have equal pay and live comfortably in peace and harmony under the benevolent and watchful eye of our democrat leaders. They'd get great retirement pay under LT's plan too!

Hah. The Roadrunner took a break and Bugs Bunny tags right in.Clinton raised the top tax rate from 31% to 39.6% in 1993. He only raised the income tax on the richest 5% of the country. While Clinton was president, unemployment declined from 7.3% in January 1993 to 3.9% in December 2000. An average of 2,900,000 jobs per year were created during the Clinton administration.
Bush cut the top tax rate to 35%. When he left office, the unemployment rate was 7.6%. An average of 375,000 jobs were created every year Bush was president.

It gets tiresome to post these same facts again and again in order to refute the same cliches, but the facts remain true, and the cliches do not become brilliant insights.
Let the people free and they will find a way to prosper. Put them under the heel of democrat philosopher-kings and their myriad rules and social engineering efforts and they will retract and not prosper. Simple and clear.
Simple and clear.
