The ellipsis is for a trailing thought but the correct way is . . .

Actually, you can embed an ellipsis in your text by using the code

& # 8 2 3 0 ;

(I've embedded spaces to keep the board from interpreting the code, which I haven't figured out
any other way to inhibit.)

And, although



(The board doesn't interpret this bit of HTML.)

is one way to get an em-dash, another is

& # 8 2 1 2 ;

(Embedded spaces here, too, because the board wants to replace this code with a em-dash.)

Note that the semicolons are part of each of the codes, and not punctuation in this note. I suspect that the 8212 part of the em-dash code may have something to do with the complaint that began this thread.
