Tihmmnmmish's Cuddle-Friendly Fireside Threadcast

all's well here
doing nano brought alive the enjoyment of rambly fiction, so that's been the main direction lately

I enjoy it very much.

so very glad to hear this. :) use nano for whatever works for you. that's the way! :)

Ah. Sorry. I meant I'd finished it but after having done it I kinda got hooked on the idea of setting a word count goal within a certain amount of time, and just ramble and worry about the rest later. Quit thinking or overthinking so much. Just put down whatever comes to mind. It causes a miniature mind rush. And sometimes pick a place in the mess and see if it can be formed into something at least slightly interesting. Only thing, nano pulled the zig-zag project off course. It's still at a prominent place on the to-do list. Wanted to do a few lengthier prosy parts. Want to explore weirdness. But the weirdness has to come into a somewhat ordinary setting. It's the setting up of the setting that's tricky. And then where to spin parts of the ordinary into weirdness. And do it so it's at least passably readable. :D

sometimes oodles of potential portals appear and other times there's nothing, which is actually part of the pleasure, being faced with something seemingly insurmountable and then mounting it

mounting it? oh la laa

well a mount that appeared insurmountable and then was mounted only means that the mount was mounted which means the seeming insurmountable mount was indeed mountable but the mounter had the need, and driven by that need, there came the climb that was really more like a crawl and climbing and clambering and digging in those feet and grasping those crevices the mountaineer, after the loss of a pail of sweat finally can strike the adventurer flagpole into that peak and raise up a victorious gesticulation and shout something about what a great day it was for a mounter.

So there we have it not only are you a masterpainter you are a mountaineer also but I suppose I knew that all along

is he a multiple mountaineer? a mounter of plural peaks? an employer of ropes, safety knots and goggles? :D does he pose for the camera as he plants his flag?

He thinks public expressions and wine imbibing should not be done at the same time.

I do know that the crawling upon mounts does not go hand in hand with masterpainting. One call for brute endurance yet dancer's grace and the other is a quieter contemplative way. Masterpainting was such an enormously beneficial exploration. But wonderful as a daylong mounting expedition can most certainly be, I find that sentimental seed of longing for the closer meditative focus masterpainting calls for. But when I go into the special masterpainting place it feels strangely foreign like I forgot all about just how one begins to masterpaint. But I am tossing everything else to the side for the next few days for the sole intent of getting or regaining a grasp on the joy of masterpainting. On the other hand, expeditionary mountings can be wonderful sources for future masterpainting material.

You need to make the acqaintance of Homburg for the rope work he is the professional there!

For me mount also has a computer (Unix/Linux) resonance, whose opposite is umount.

'umount' eh? as in umount imount hemounts wemount? this is turning into an orgy

I can't believe I missed all this talk about mounting. lol
Yeah, I'm supposed to be at the hospital now, but my aunt who takes me had to work today. The leader of the program is talking about discharging me since I am doing much better and the transportation thing has been an issue from time to time.

How are you all doing? I am having a hell of a time in my Photoshop class. Well, it's called Digital Image Manipulation, but it might as well be called Photoshop class. I only started using Adobe software this year when I enrolled at AI. It's a lot to learn. Who would have thought Photoshop would involve so much? Masks, filters, layers, channels, automated actions, etc. It's crazy.

Well, you guys have a good day!

Are you seriously trying to get me into an argument, UYS? LMAO
Are you talking about the poem labeled "hyco"? If so, it's not remotely close to being haiku. I figured the other poem isn't supposed to be haiku, but I just skimmed the discussion.

The way I see it, UYS, when most people ask about whether or not a poem they wrote is haiku or an general opinion on a haiku that they wrote, they don't want a real answer. They only want to hear, "Yes! That's fantastic!"

There have been exceptions to that, of course. And, I am always happy to give my opinion and helpful feedback when the person truly wants it. However, I'm not going to set myself up for another argument over haiku.

I've thought about starting a thread for real efforts at haiku. I was excited when a haiku thread started here before, but was quickly disappointed when there weren't any real haiku posted on it. When I tried to give helpful advice on that thread, I was basically blasted for it.

For the thread you are referring to, I will post the link to an article I recently wrote that has received excellent reviews and has been linked by others teaching haiku.

Don't let it get to you. You can't force someone to learn.
*hugs*

Which, as I mentioned, is the usual response to constructive criticism on haiku of someone who asked for feedback. I forget how I was told off when I offered feedback before. I might look it up. I could use a good laugh.

Glad to hear you're doing better:)
I use Photoshop, but just for basic image manipulation.
I've done more work in geospatial image manipulation, but not for a while.
