It's so not me to do this kinda thing. I'm basically really shy, in RL. I'm not sure I can keep it up there for long.

But thanks, doll.
well i think you look wonderful in that picture and it should stay up forever...but i do understand shyness. :rose:

Your son hit a home run? That's marvelous!!! I know that feeling.

Once, Michael was in a playoff (golf) and watching him putt to win was the most splendid feeling I ever had. But watching him tee-off brings tears to my eyes, he has a most beautiful swing.

Congratulations for your boy... and for you!!!

Catalina :rose:

Maybe just a little too explicit? But for an old woman (and you know how old I am) I don't look reeeeallly too bad, yet?

Maybe I should flaunt it as long as I've got it... or something. ;-)

And thank you, Catalina.

Miss Rose this is so strange I keep looking at your boobs while I am posting..........laughs....... I may never post a straight line here again ;)

True Love? At first sight?

Nope, it takes time to build.

Instant attraction certainly exists, and is often the first gate on the road to "true love". Like someone else said in this thread, if it (the attraction) isn't there, no amount of work can convince me that it is.

Heinlein wrote that "love is the subjective state of another's happiness being essential to one's own."

That kind of thing can't be done in an instant. It can sneak up on you. One day, you realize you're thanking God for every minute you have with that person. I Corinthians, 1-13, is a good treatise on love as well, though some translations use the word "charity" instead of "love". There's a reason we still read it at weddings nearly two thousand years later.

Nowhere in there does it say it happens in an instant, or that the relationship that fosters it doesn't take work.

I dunno about online love, but online lust and online crushes are certainly possible. (I have some personal experience with that, from right here on Lit, back in the day, and later.. other places. You know who I'm talking about, ADR, I'm sure.)

You know, I agree with that. I think there can be instant attractions and chemistry can be perfect but that doesn't mean it's love. And it can become love, no question about it. But like you said, love takes time. Love takes, like I think KC said, knowing where he tosses his socks at night. It's the sum total of a person and all their annoyances as well as all their loveable habits, too.

And Spectre, just like you mentioned... I can have an online crush at the drop of a hat, and have and do. I think I once had a thread about crushes. I love crushes. I love how they make me feel. But it's not love in the ever after sense.
