Um, I worked in a branch of law enforcement that dealt with the transport and detention of individuals, and there are costs and legal issues involved that would make “Leon” Musk take pause.

Also:

Hiring and training all these new agents that are expected to implement this grand immigration enforcement, transport, detention, and deportation plan is going to be a Herculean / monumental task (cost and actual recruitment) in itself.

Side note:

I was involved in hiring and training new staff at my detention facility, and it is a bear of a task - even discounting attrition.

Infantry platoon leader with the Minnesota Army National Guard in Baghdad. Deployed to Afghanistan with the Minnesota Army National Guard and acted as a senior counterinsurgency instructor at the Counterinsurgency Training Center in Kabul. Joined Fox News as a contributor in 2014.

Most of the recent Secretary's of Defense have been former Generals. Part of the "establishment" and with no drive to change anythinge because they've emerged from the system. The DoD is a dump of corruption and waste. Picking someone "qualified" would mean picking someone who was part of the problem in the first place.

I understand the "he's not qualified" posts about Peter Hegseth. The "moron" thing is just moronic. I couldn't care less.

We need an outsider to make effective changes and excise the woke and the useless dead weights. Combine that with the ideas in his last book on how to reform the military at the macro level and I think it's a huge, but certainly unexpected, win for our military.

He’ll probably reduce the general staff by half. I believe he’ll make it an imperative to actually pass an audit, cut wasteful spending and redirect funding to critical programs and infrastructure. I believe he’ll push for major raises for soldiers from E-1 to E-6 and clean up living conditions and provide modern housing for military families. imho

He will be in a civilian management position where management skills are most important. If he surrounds himself with quality military leaders he’ll do fine. His job will be the connective tissue between the WH and the Pentagon.
