TSCLT 12.0: The pantheon hates a pussy 2.0

Home a bit early. Had to sort out a prescription. Left to their own devices, my pharmacy would have had it filled tomorrow. Wat insisted on today. Wat won, and Wat may also be looking for a new pharmacy.

Boiling noodles for the sauce which was put on last night and ready this morning.

The one who thinks himself equal or inferior or superior to others is, by that very reason, involved in argument. But such thoughts as equal, inferior, and superior are not there in the one who is not moved by such measurements.

Why should a wise person argue with another, saying: "This is a truth" and "This is a lie"? If such a one never entertains a thought about equal, inferior, or superior, with whom is he going to argue?

The sage who has freed himself from dependence on others and from dependence on words and is no longer attached to knowledge does not risk the smothering of truth by engaging in disputes with people.

~ Sutta Nipata

The gates of wisdom and truth are forever closed
to those who are wise in their own conceits; they
have always opened before the expectancy of
the humble and the teachable.

Happy Tuesday!!! Kitten spent 20 minutes racing around the house - all by herself. I hope she enjoyed it.

There's a meeting with the bank inspector this morning at the other job near the coast. The one that the guy quit from. Allegedly, they got his replacement hire approved, and now there is the batch of forms and such. He might start on the 18th.

Wat's bet is 2024.

I have a free weekend coming up and think I'll make some deer bologna. It's been a while since I've had the sausage stuffer out.

No bonuses going out this year, none of the eight temps we hired made it to the end. The rest of us will have profit sharing in January after the accountant tells us what we have left.

Three of those temps left for other jobs, two were polite and talked to me, one had an attitude and I wasn't hurt to see him go. His bragging about snagging a job at local factory had me smiling, he never bothered to question why they suddenly have openings, he'll find out soon, the paperwork has been filed for receivership and it should be public knowledge soon. The workers that have been there a while are fleeing like rats off a sinking ship.

Our contractors are putzing along happily. They finished the outside work while the conditions were still favourable and now that it's gotten colder they have started indoors and are making faster progress than I expected. If we can get the inspector out they should be able to start blowing in the insulation before the new year. I still need to decide what to do with that empty lot, the trucking company renting the back of the second building are thinking of expanding so I may just clean it up, pave it and rent it them for excess trailers and such.

The mad rush time is over, still lots to do but I can now indulge again in the little luxuries like sleep, homecooked meals, and putting my feet up once in a while.

Got a couple of contractors coming to see Wat on Thursday to look at the work and price it. We want to be in place to get this show on the road when the wheels say "Go!"

So I have my buddy/partner Out West. She's good peoples. When she showed up there after being a military brat and a student, she went to work for this guy, Dr. Wolfe. I met him. I liked him. As most of you lot know, I can't say that about a lot of people I have met. Anyway, he was her mentor for a long time, both for work and how to do stuff and he went with her to help her shop for farms when she was looking. He helped her pick the one she bought. In many ways, he was more like a father to her than the biological one.

Well, he had bladder cancer and it caught up with him. She just found out this afternoon. Late enough to miss the funeral "festivities." She's a bit weepy and very pensive, so we discussed how his earthly troubles are over and that every single step she takes on her dirt is both testament and tribute to a truly helpful and decent person. The world is so fucking full of selfish and inconsiderate cunts these days, so it's a pity that he's packed it in, but it's also a reminder of what to be for those who genuinely seek guidance.

Happy Wednesday!!! Slept okay. Quiet critters right now.

Shopping for some silver for the kids. Prices seem to have dropped in the last week or two. Thank you for that, Uncle Joe Willie!!!

I built the coffee myself.

Skillful speech not only means that we pay attention to the words we speak and to their tone but also requires that our words reflect compassion and concern for others and that they help and heal, rather than wound and destroy.

Cool dry weather pattern. It looks kind of wet in Wat-land.

Winter Squirrel Shoot

# Rounds Expended: 6
Furry-tailed tree rats: 4

Took a very long shot at one tree rat who ran up a tree and just sat on a branch mocking me, so I took my chance and hit the branch right below him. He scattered in a cloud of dust.

Rain isn't forecasted to arrive until Sunday, but it's coming.

He'll be back. You can kill him then.

I have a chest freezer in the back of the truck, to take to the dump today. It amuses me because it's 20F out and I'm toting a freezer... Well, I find it amusing anyway.

Had lunch at a new hoagie joint yesterday. A 12" cheese steak and a 12" Italian. Because I had to see which I liked best. As a hoagie expert, I have to say both were pretty damn good, but the Italian was almost perfect. This place is about 40 minutes past The Land (or 5 miles in WV distance) so I don't know how often I will get out there, but it's always an option.

I love your idea and could consider looking into it for the lot, but that's residential people and I have enough with the commercial people. I'm honestly hoping the contractor slows down a bit, I would love to delay rentals until after March when I have recharged.

I reckon it's be the person you think we need more of, then.

Did I see a rumor that a certain J. Savage person has a killer spaghetti recipe???
