TSCLT 12.0: The pantheon hates a pussy 2.0

Yeah, I need to do the passport thingie. Annoying, but "necessary".

Happy Thursday!!! It'll be back to work today. The manglement lady texted last night and said that she made lunch, which is damned nice of her. Of course, maybe she left out the "you can't have any" part, but I doubt it. It's springtime warm out there. I don't think that the furnace ran yesterday. That's okay with the gas bill, as since I'm the one paying it . . . .

Coffee is on time this morning . . . .

Well, here we are. Another day.

Had dinner with friends last night. They are going house shopping in Florida today. Said they've had enough... I feel the same way. Tired of the gloomy weather November though March.

This morning's temperature is pretty near the eutectic point for a mixture of sodium chloride and water. In other words, salt won't do anything when spread on ice.

In upstate ny, whatever chem they use seems to be ineffective starting at +15f....snow doesnt melt. In many places they just use chunks....larger roads they have a liquid they dribble.

Make sure the passport is good, too.
It has another year so I'll deal with it this summer when I'm in Windsor.

After a couple of hurricanes, they may rethink things

They brine the roads here too, it's preventative but doesn't do much in my opinion. A little north of me they use sand, grit always works.

Happy Friday!!! We're coming around the last corner on getting our woodwork back in place on Flood Floor. That's good news. It'll be nice to get back to where we were - 10 weeks ago. Allah damn, it seems like forever.

It's currently like May outside. I have come up with something to do this evening and a plan to HfD my way to it, too. Allah truly is beneficent.

And coffee is truly wondemous.

When you have thrown off your ideas as to mind and body, the original truth will fully appear. Zen is simply the expression of truth; therefore longing and striving are not the true attitudes of Zen.

Home. Got all my calls made this afternoon, so shit is (mostly) lined up next week.

Went out for a bit and saw a couple of people I hadn't seen in awhile. I may have to make a habit of it.

Nice night for Morticia the bike. Motorcycle. Harley fucking Davidson.

We have robins returning, the spring rains are here and everything is flooded, I guess we are going to start the season early? I can do with fewer heating bills so I'm good with it.

Yeah, because that can go sideways with one cold front.

Happy Saturday!!! Up a bit earlier than intended, but it happens. It's still warm enough easily to ride to my breakfast outing. Usually, Wat rides when it's winter, but last fall as it got colder, I kept feeling like I was coming down with something and didn't. That feeling has passed. We'll see.

After coffee, and maybe sunrise . . . .

The more you practice the three trainings of ethics, meditation, and wisdom, the more difficult it will become for you to act in a way that is contrary to an ethical, compassionate attitude. Ethics arise naturally out of contemplating the three trainings.

Zen does not confuse spirituality with thinking about God while one is peeling potatoes. Zen spirituality is just to peel the potatoes.

Happy Sunday!!! Soggy morning. Cooler. Slept in a bit. Shooping list is going together. Football is later. Cheaps are in Balmer. The other game is incidental, and the Ravings handed each of them their asses earlier in the season. That fucking team is a very few plays from being undefeated.

My coffee is also undefeated . . . .

Ordinarily the death of a cat means little to most men, a lot to fewer men, but to me, and that cat, it was exactly and no lie and sincerely like the death of my little brother - I loved Tyke with all my heart.

Not really, because I like my cats more than my little brother.

I'm not about to say winter is over, it's my book reading season and I'm not giving it up.
I will however enjoy whatever mild conditions it deems to give me and be grateful for the small blessings.
We had a severe cold snap that lasted ten days and tested the capacity of the new warming/rehab center we opened last fall, without that facility I'm sure the shelter demands would be a great deal less right now.

Some people think that the weather we're having now is a cold snap, but it's just normal winter weather to anyone who's lived here since childhood. Now, people are worried about frostbite and then, mom never worried because she knew we were on the ice playing hockey or just skating and we'd be home when we got cold.
