"ummm... it's a cock ring, actually" Coming out to the straights.

I know people who wouldn't give a damn about the quality of the motor. They'd be transfixed by the gold and diamonds. Who needs a motor when you have gold and diamonds? Drop that little toy in the Prada bag and off you go to shop for the day.

you have obviously never experienced the sadness of losing a much loved vibrator. I think if you paid a couple of grand for a vibe, then you would want it to last for as long as you could play it over your clit.

I'm speaking only of their priorities, not my own. I'm much too cheap to indulge in a $2,000 sex toy. For that money I would want one that makes my breakfast and gives phenomenal blowjobs with my coffee.

But back on topic: your stuff is gorgeous. Let the art speak for itself.

so you aren't in the market for a bespoke silver and gold cock ring then? :D But agreed. that kind of dosh is silly, though I'd happily make stuff like that if people would pay for it.

and thank you. I'm looking forward to when my workshop is in action and I can get the stuff finished properly, photographed and hopefully sold.

Note that this also comes in a gold-plated version. Not exactly a bdsm-specific item, but any sex "toy" that rings up at $1,300 US is a serious bit of indulgence.

It's on sale for only $975!

I don't think many solid silver dildos would sell but there is a market and you probably would get a "few" sales over time. And for an internet-based business that specializes in custom orders, you would only be out a link on a website even if it didn't (other than making that first one for the pictures). I'm not openly admitting to having spent an obscene amount of cash on any frivolous gift like that as a joke for a very good friend that regularly complained that she couldn't find a man worth her time, but...uh...I don't remember what my point was. You'd probably sell a handful that would make it worth the time to put one more link on the site, though.

meh... I'd have to find a cock to cast first. and it would have to be one that I like the idea of using on myself and crucially one which mr trb won't be offended with me using. Shit. I actually sound like this might be feasible. It's not!

I get it. Just a suggestion!

Oh, I meant to put in a comment for your FAQ page. Some people have jobs where fingerprints being scattered around could be a security risk. You may want to include a note about how you handle disposal and any security measures you have in place to keep that information protected. Most that have that sort of security concern just won't order something like that, but some might consider it. It wouldn't hurt. Fingerprints are becoming more common for use in everyday banking also, so it can become a general concern in time.

damn you! you re-planted the silver cock worm in my mind!

about the fingerprints... that is an issue. I did think of putting in a general confidentiality disclaimer, but the only way i can give a complete security measure is if I only accept fingerprints in the post and then return them on completion. If sent by email people would have to take my word for it that I'm going to trash and erase any jpg files. I suppose it won't hurt to say it, though as you said, if they are that concerned they wouldn't do it anyway.

Oops, sorry! (Not really. ) There's just, you know, a market. Not a big one probably, but some people will splurge now and then for frivolous things.

It's a question you'll probably get at some point even without a disclaimer, so it would serve you well to put some thought into it. Details like data encryption from your email provider, do you print and shred? Or just toss in the trash? Or burn? Or do you deal just with the digital files, and then what happens to it? How many people "touch" the fingerprints and potentially have a copy?

You don't necessarily have to have the details on the website, but a simple comment like "Security and confidentiality is a paramount concern. For details and specific questions, please email." That says you've thought about it and have some measures in place.

OR...

Well, I was waiting for Stella's website comments, but you may want to consider spending a little cash up front and having a web designer put something together. I'm not saying your site isn't good. It is easy to navigate, but there are some tweaks that someone more technically-oriented than I could probably verbalize better. If you have an encrypted form where clients could upload their .jpg fingerprints directly through a secure, encrypted connection (rather than dealing with email and the multiple potential security issues involved). It still won't bring in the sales from people where that's a big issue, but for more novice but kinda paranoid people, it'll ease some concerns.

see? this was exactly the argument I used. I think people ~would~ want one, even if it cost them in the high hundreds. of course, the bigger the guy is, the more it's gonna cost.

I do really think that my caster would have a blue fit though :D

See, I was thinking have the customer use the cast-a-willy moulds and make a copy of their member. It would not be too all-fired difficult to devise a system by which a neutral plug sized to one of the existing slimline vibrators could be inserted into the cock mould. This would have the twin advantages of adding vibration and cutting down costs. A silver sheath over a slimline vibe would have to be less expensive than the same volume of sterling silver, no?

Or egocentric (penocentric?) enough to have an entire thread devoted to their cock...

Have you put your order in to Kybele yet, HC? :p

With all respects to my colleague, Sir WInston, I would like to point out for the record that the referenced thread was not started by the Cock in question or the person associated with said Cock.

LOL - I know. I just had to yank your chain a little bit. I haven't picked on you in quite a while.

Pfft.

I've actually looked into the clone-a-willy thing. The whole process weirded me out a bit too much. Honestly, what would happen if said cloned willy made its' way into untrained hands? Think of the carnage!

I really cannot afford a web designer. I looked into it and it costs a surprising amount. I've already borrowed a wedge to get started and it's mostly gone on raw materials. I can't blow any more on the website other than my own time. I am planning on redoing it though, to try out a different layout.

Most other jewellers who do the fingerprint thing do it either via molds or emailed prints, so I'll stick with that plus the security and confidentiality disclaimer.

yeah... well that's what I was thinking originally, although there would still be some depth and weight to the silver. I think I need a small cocked man to help create the prototype.

and what cock thread is this? links?

A friend of mine does leather work. GREAT leather work. He'll make just about anything if you pay him enough. It's not a matter of him being into a given kink, it's a matter of him wanting to make money.

Just phrase it that way. The "pursuit of money" always makes weird shit easier to swallow.

/Also, holler at me if you need someone to do some leather work for you.

it's the angle I'm aiming for. I just know I'm going to get the feminists rant off her for chaining women up.

You can stifle that really quickly by saying what I told my mother:

"It's my choice as a feminist to submit to my husband. Feminism is about a woman's right to choose her own path in life, right?"

Have to go. will get back to you.

It wasn't my intention to offend if I did. I've had websites built but I'm not the one paying the bill. When playing with other people's money I do sometimes forget how pricey it can get depending on what you look for and how many pages you need (well, budget is always in mind, but when it's not my wallet, you know...but I'm rambling  ). You can definitely get much the same result DIY with time spent on Googling and learning. You do have an easily-navigated setup so far and once you get the rest of the content in, you'll have a great storefront!

That disclaimer should cover most concerns. :):rose:

I want to do a wide collar... about 2-3 inches and I thought it would be useful to have an additional leather lining to it for hard play.

the latest news is mr trb says that if I get known in the village as the 'cock-ring lady', our highly conformist daughter may never forgive me.

no no no! not offended at all! I want and need feedback!

No link for you!

If you need a graphic artist for your site, I could definitely help out for a few bucks~

As far as DIY web design goes, A List Apart is a truly invaluable design and coding resource, and CSS Drive is great for inspiration.
