Going to college allowed Phoebe to flourish in her love of learning but she never quite got used to socializing with her peers. Hardly anyone was her age and most left the shy girl alone because of the age difference. Going to a local college allowed Phoebe to live at home with her parents and attend classes. She's loved by her professors and all of the librarians. It's her last year before she graduates with her degrees but she finds herself distracted by a man. Alain is nothing like anyone Phoebe has met before.

Phoebe is near-sighted and blind as a bat without her glasses.

Written Description: Belle is a solid 95 lbs of toned muscle. She has an athletic build with soft curves, slender waist & long legs. Dark brown, honey-gold hair falls down to graze her hips but normally twisted in a French braid or messy knot on her head. Striking light blue eyes are hidden behind brown plastic eye glasses. She generally wears jeans with a comfortable t-shirt or blouse. Most of her clothing are understated and not worn with the idea of flattering her form. It's function over fashion for Belle.

Character Story: A mysterious deadline hangs over Belle's head. Twelve years ago, Belle's Father had a series of business mishaps that almost bankrupted him. Mysteriously, a benefactor helped him out of his crisis but with one condition. Each of his five children (three boys and two girls) must serve at his mansion for a summer once they turned twenty-one years of age. Belle is the youngest of the five children and none of her siblings will talk about their experience at the mansion. All of them would only state that they did various work as an assistant to the benefactor and that was all they could say about it. Except none of them looked happy to have had the experience and that made Belle curious about the whole deal. In a few weeks, Belle is turning 21 and it will be her turn that summer to go to the mansion of Lord Dustin Colby Sullivan and serve him for three months. She wanted to be excited about the whole deal but it was hard to feel excitement when her whole family treated the affair like prison time. The only other odd condition was that all of them had to be a virgin until after their summer internship.

Belle has always been quick to heal and recover from injuries and she's never taken ill. She may catch a cold or develop a fever like anyone else but it never lingered for more than a day or two.

The whole family went on an exotic adventure during the summer when Belle was fourteen. It was the first time that any of them had traveled to Africa and it was an amazing experience. They planned to do one of the outings that would take them out into the wild and see animals in their natural habitat. Everything was fine until the night a rabid lion ransacked their camp, killed a few of their party and severely injured Nolan. The lion had clawed Nolan across his torso. There was no way he would have made it back to help. Belle was trying to help to stop the bleeding when it happened. Her gift swelled up inside of her, connected with Nolan and poured out of her in a rush of intense riot of feelings and thoughts. Nolan and Belle laughed like drunken idiots when the light faded from Belle. They laughed until they cried almost hysterically and then Belle passed out on the ground. She woke up the next day. Nolan was healed completely and only the angry red marks on his torso were left to show what happened to him.

Nolan and Belle were inseparable during the trip. The healing formed a bond that made them closer than ever.

The only one to take after their mother in looks is Belle. She's the only short one with blue eyes in the family. Everyone else had their father's black hair and height. She's the runt in the family and the favorite.

Belle loved the flowing forms of martial arts and trained in Wing Chung. While she knows how to use a staff, spear and sword, her favorite weapon of choice are single edged swords: dao & katana.

Due to her older brothers' influence, Belle learned how to shoot semiautomatic pistols. She uses a Sig Sauer P238

Outside of her healing ability, Belle is an efficient martial artist and short range shooter. While she pushes herself to be faster and stronger to keep up with her siblings, she does not have added speed or strength above a normal, fit person.

Super Powers: Healing

Belle has a healing power that grows stronger with each use. Prolonged use or heavy healing will lead to death. In extreme case, it may kill both Belle & the person she is healing due to the bond she forms in order to heal. While healing and connected to the person, they become an open book to Belle. The bigger the healing, the more she will learn about the person.

Belle glows when she is healing. The stronger the healing, the more she glows. A heat will be felt between Belle and the one she heals at the point of physical contact. It can become excruciating pain like being burned by a brand. Once healed, the person feels a euphoria: can be purely emotional joy, happiness or intense sexual arousal. A bit like being drunk without the upset stomach.

Upside – Belle has the chance to gain new knowledge or skills easily in a functional manner. She has to use it while she has the knowledge to learn it though. There's always a limit connected to strength and time needed by the healing.

Downside - Emotional or gut responses will become a lot like the person she healed for a period of time depending on depth of healing. For a short period, Belle will feel amazing up to an hour and then promptly pass out for a nap or longer due to healing. She is normally very curious and slow to anger. If she heals someone who is quick to anger and cutting in words, she'll take on those aspects for a while.

It belonged to her mother and passed down in her family for generations. The ring has a unique quality to allow Belle to find anyone or thing. She only needs to know what the person or thing looks like, concentrate on it and she will feel where they are.

*Note to Players* The name for Beast doesn't have to stay the same. If anyone wants to play the Beast and wants a different name, go for it. I picked that particular name because it has meanings for "dark" and "monster". I tend to pick names due to the meaning behind it. =)

Deirdre Morte – Belle's best friend from childhood. The two met in gradeschool and were thick as thieves ever since. What Belle doesn't know (yet) is that Deirdre is Belle's fairy godmother. The Morte line has always watched over the Thaddeus lineage. Being a rebel, Deirdre chose to become a part of Belle's life in a more active manner than a silent watcher from a far.

A moment

It's amazing how well visual media can present a multitude of emotions and depth with one scene.

Two warriors, sword welders, are spending time together beneath the moon. She's gathering leaves to make tea. A little effort to give those in a need a moment of ease in harsh times. He doesn't quite understand why she does what she does. She hands him a leaf and he leans over to smell it. It doesn't have a strong scent. She walks into the shallow brook, crushes the leaves in her hands and soaks the green in the water. Rising up, she motions for him to come and smell again. He gathers her hands in his and leans close to take in the clean fragrant aroma. He stays, holds onto her hands because it's not the tea leaves that hold him captive, it's her.

That moment when he holds her hands and insists on holding onto them when she tries to pull away. It's lovely. It makes me want to write in a way that can clearly create a moment like that.

Yet, despite the rigors of her upbringing, her heart is pure, her humor alive in carefree pranks of the confident & clever and the keen bitterness of the debt does not weigh as heavily on her as it should. The levity and freedom of youth.

It's just another day. Another meaningless prank of a clever young one. The repercussions are a hundred times harsher than she thought. She is banished from the only home she knows. Cut from those she calls family. The one she had spent her whole life training to kill, is the one that raised her.
