Well, I swim in the ocean but it is cold so it’s up to you. I'd suggest sweats and a blanket if we plan to watch the stars come out.

Yes! It is cold. Once I get my armpits in I'm good. But I also grew up swimming in this water and still do regularly. NYE is usually the coldest because we do a post-midnight dip to ring in the new year.

...I've done winter bathing exactly once, and the immediate gut reaction wasn't much too different than when I nearly sliced off my fingertip. "What the fuck did I do that for."

Once water gets below about 68 f I’m done. But, I’m also familiar with maritime search and rescue and what cold water does to a person trying to stay alive…

Water temperatures peak in the range 14 to 17°C (57 to 63°F) on around the end of September and are at their lowest in the beginning of April, in the range 10 to 14°C (50 to 57°F). Its always cold.

Yeah, water temps here bottom out around 55f in the middle of winter, too out in the mid 80’s…
