Vote feedback, what's gone wrong?

I have to agree this story would have been better in non-con, if only because that's where I would look for such a story, but hey, if the story mods accepted it as group sex, then I guess it can fit there too.

Hey Lalah

I fear, they don't accept a story twice:(

really new but yet really experienced!

"It belongs in Non-Consent/Reluctance and I'm sorry I even followed the thread. Blackmail isn't a good story"

Yeah, I thought the re-labelling was a bit odd. I suppose if you had bothered to read it you’d realise that blackmail wasn’t the theme to the story, it was just used in the ending! Miss the last page and you have a typical 'Group Sex' story.

I’m sorry the story wasn’t a good example for you, but this thread (if you bothered to read that too) is not about the story, it was about voting behaviour, how people vote, what attributes they value most when voting and why the voting average on the site is over 4.

If voting politics doesn’t interest you, then why read a thread about it in the first place! Same goes to the Literotica Guru who only joined the site last week! (how is that possible?!!!)

This is exactly the reason people are getting pissed at the story. It start out as a group sex story, and at the end for no reasons there come the blackmail. Many people don't like blackmail, but when they're already turned on by what's happening and the blackmail is a tool to make things hotter, well they're more likely to turn a blind eye. But blackmail when they're cold? That's asking for trouble anywhere but the non-con section, where they tend to get turned on by people being forced into situations.

Why? Was it really so good?

I think so... Remember, I'm very new here and the idea that readers liked it enough, first to vote, and second to vote that they liked it. Now it may be old hat to some, but for me, this is good for my soul. Currently 4.20 out of 5 seems pretty decent to me.

Please, read Night Shift Nurse , and let me know what YOU think.

OK, jumping in late in this game.... this is my first post anywhere, and just had my first story put up yesterday. The feedback I got was unsettling, at best.

Seems everyone is here for a different reason. My reason: I just write stories for my wife cuz it gets her off. That's why we enjoy reading erotic stories, and I enjoy writing them. Not looking for a "break". Not sniffing around for a pulitzer.

I got critisized for not knowing the difference between "erotica" and "porn". So my story was porn... kinda what I was going for, right? I had people suggesting that, due to it's content, my story indicates that I/we need medical attention and/or mental help. It's fiction. Nothing more. No deep seated hidden meanings or indicators of mental state.

It wasn't my first story, by the way, it was the eighth in an ongong series that contains eleven stories thus far. And yes, they don't contain a whole lot of buildup or dialogue, it "gets straight to the fucking". They are my fantasies, and my fantasies contain no buildup and very little dialogue.

Doesn't make me a sick individual, nor a bad writer. Does it?

Did you happen to post in the Loving Wives section? It is noted for ugly comments from opinionated posters.

Could you post a link to your story so we can read it? I just posted my first one a few days ago and have only received two public comments, but some good feedback on a thread I started. You might try that also.

I read it

I enjoyed your story - and if the only problem is which category is used, I guess I would have put it under Erotic Couplings or Group Sex. I left my comment also.

Thanks Lady I.... when I submitted it I used key words like "swinging" and "group sex"... "loving wives" was never put forth.

I appreciate the encouraging words. I've got a bunch more, it's just a matter of submitting them. I'll look for more of yours as well, I enjoyed the one I read. I'd love to link to my story, but I don't know how. I'll give it a shot for anyone else who hasn't already found it.

How about this: http://www.literotica.com/stories/showstory.php?id=349844

Yup, very new to this.... but glad that I seemed to have found another writer just delving in...

drkside, this is the kind of attitude I expected to find here: accepting and non-judgemental. I was stunned at the feedback I saw at first... deleted them before what was left of my crumbling self-esteem fell away. Thanks!

Don't get it...

Well, my second story got posted today, but not under 'Erotic Couplings'. For some unknown reason it was put under 'Loving Wives'. I already know that it will get lots of comments on this so I posted my own comment explaining. Hope it works.

Anyway, please read and let me know.

Just Tried Going There

I have just read a story with a vote feedback of 4.00. Now, I must admit, I do tend to be influenced by the voting score and was expecting to read a few paragraphs and move on. Well, apart from not having any paragraphs, this story was really good. It had a good plot and was steaming hot

Which got me thinking, how did a good story end up with such a low voting feedback, compared to some of the excellently written shite that you find in the 'Top Lists'? Do people really vote on punctuation & grammar over plot & horniness?

Does anyone actually know how the voting system works on here? Can anybody vote over and over again on the same story, or do you have to be a logged in member and then the details are recorded?

Maybe it's just me, but as the years go by, voting feedback seems to reflect less the quality of story you are about to read.

The message said the story is being reviewed, not sure what that means.
