Wat’s Carbon Water-N-Stuff Thread - Concepts In Iron And Wood!!!

Slowpoke.

I've had the solstice critter on ice for 3 days already.

I have had now three sets of travel plans for the solstice holiday. The second set made the beast look kinda iffy. This set cut off 60% of the driving and makes the beast completely doable. So it's chillin' like the villain it is and gettin' ready for a cooler ride tomorrow.

I have a friend in Az who is going to spend a week traveling to meet various and sundry.

Not for me. Especially not at this time of year.

On the other hand, there's a property in NorCal I'm interested in buying...

I bought the first piece a few years ago and have steadily buying what contiguous bits can be had. I should be able to swing the really big chunk next door later this year, If I make them an offer they don' refuse.

Firearms are inconvenient to own. They cost real money, the ammo has tripled in the last 15 years, and like cars or any other durable goods purchase, they require maintenance. Care and feeding. Rust never sleeps, and firearms contain a lot of steel components. Just got done semi-restoring an 80 year old rifle, if all y'all did more than cherry pick the posts where you might learn something instead of just picking shit with the chickens. Every day that comes this way, in my morning/first call to Mecca, I thank Allah that he has given me, his Sentient Son, the ability and desire to help his fellow humans and to earn generous recompense in so doing, and for the good sense to engage in common sense durable goods purchases instead of household crap and pissing it away on "entertainment."

The really virtuous man lives in freedom;
he follows no commandments,
he follows no scriptures,
he follows nobody else but his own inner light.
He lives according to his heart —
he is a rebel.

^^^An Islamic psychological equivalent of a Christ complex, but with a mission from Allah to spread the gospel of gunz.

When subjective feelings arrange your effort, and activity is obsessed with objects, the matter of your self is neglected; not believing in true universal knowledge in oneself, you'll never attain true awakening.

...it's like this. Sometimes, when you've a very long street ahead of you, you think how terribly long it is and feel sure you'll never get it swept. And then you start to hurry. You work faster and faster and every time you look up there seems to be just as much left to sweep as before, and you try even harder, and you panic, and in the end you're out of breath and have to stop--and still the street stretches away in front of you. That's not the way to do it.

You must never think of the whole street at once, understand? You must only concentrate on the next step, the next breath, the next stroke of the broom, and the next, and the next. Nothing else.

That way you enjoy your work, which is important, because then you make a good job of it. And that's how it ought to be.

And all at once, before you know it, you find you've swept the whole street clean, bit by bit. what's more, you aren't out of breath. That's important, too...
