What did you dream? Tell it in five sentences or fewer.

I rarely dream anymore and no, if I simply forgot that I dreamed, then I would remember that I did dream, but forget what the dream was about.

My dream: I just had a fuzzy (short/non-vivid) dream. I dreamed I was teaching someone to play the drums. There was a song that was associated with what I was teaching them. I remember the melody but can barely remember the lyrics.

This is the third time I had music in my dreams and the second time involving drums. The first time I had a dream involving drums, I dreamed I was the drummer in a band. We were playing a gig and I walked out on stage with my bandmates, got behind the kit, and all the while, I'm thinking "I don't know how to play the drums, what am I going to do?" I sat down and started playing the drums hoping nobody would notice my inability and apparently they didn't because we played the whole night.

nothing about with who or what it was about, like was it all foreplay or just pounding sex? sheesh. no living vicariously through you. heh

I've only dreamed about sex once. me and this woman were the last two people on earth. We climbed a mountain and at the peak, we had (no foreplay) sex. That I had five cocks and she had three pussy's and two sets of breasts was immaterial.
It was a fever dream from when I was young and had a 105 fever.

Butter in a Santa hat
I have had more exciting dreams than this. Truly.
It wasn't even melting or anything... WTF?

As a parent I find the nature of my nightmares has changed.

I dreamt my five year old played on our bed as she is prone to do, and slipped head first into an empty laundry basket. The basket, pinned between the bed and furniture, neither gives, nor tips, and blocks her arms from breaking her fall. She breaks her neck.

I startle awake to a sharp sound somewhere in the house.

Yikes :(

I dreamt I was an ice cube thief

I went to a museum that had all of my favorite things gathered together. There were displays of historic clothing with actual, helpful descriptions; a display of jewelry; a display of tapestries in the middle of the room so I could see the backs of the pieces; and a room of musical instruments where you could push a button and hear a recording of each of them being played. It reminded me of the V&A, but done even better.

Didn't sleep too much last night, because I got the bright idea to have a double espresso at 6PM. I rarely drink coffee, so the caffeine kept me wide awake until 3:30 in the morning. Now I'm dead tired. The espresso tasted yummy, though. Anyways, the dream.

J and I were in a sinking cruise ship, but there were very few passengers there and the ship was sinking slowly so there was no real rush to the life boats - plenty of room for everybody. On our way to the life boats, we found a store that sold wedding dresses and I wanted to try on some. I found one that I liked, left money next to the cash register and we ran to the last life boat that was left. When we got to the life boat, me in that wedding dress, the dream sort of zoomed out and I could see that everything that had happened was a video game J and I were playing while sitting on our couch.

Wedding dresses on a sinking ship. Symbolic much? :D

(In reality I went wedding dress shopping with my friend - for her - yesterday and we talked about the Estonia sinking while there. Got some weird looks from the assistant. Apparently sinking ships aren't the most common topic of conversation in bridal stores. :D)

The last few nights I have spent in various strange buildings with lots of doors to the outside, trying to get away from leopards and lions.
Every time I've managed to lure one out a door and closed it behind it, it turns out some idiot has left a door open somewhere else, so they just keep turning up again.
I felt like the only one who really understands how stupid it is to have wild animals roaming the corridors, not that people don't run and scream or helped in the moment. Noone seemed to want to help organize and plan so they wouldn't keep coming back though.

It's been exhausting to say the least, so last night I told myself in a stern voice to dream something else.

So, now I'm dead tired because I spent the night chasing a careless friend's kid while we were on a gigantic holiday resort that we saw deserted in Croatia during the war.
It sure wasn't deserted now and the kids kept falling in pools, turning on icy showers on other guests, stealing food and things like that, while their parents happily partied by the pool.
Then I was back here and driving, so tired that I almost fell asleep at the wheel but driving so fast that I escaped the police.

Yes, I'm tired again. Slightly amused though.

I had a flying dream (o wondrous and rare!) Skimming over treetops, through clouds and around the moon. The stars made music.

I broke into an ex-lovers house to reclaim some musical instruments of mine, and his wife caught me red handed. I made a plausible excuse to her as to why I was there, and then he turned up. I expected him to be furious but he grabbed my hand as we walked down the street, and even though I was protesting that his wife would see, he insisted that I give in.

(The guy in my dream is an ex, and I did once turn up politely at the house of another ex to ask for my guitar back, but he wasn't married, so this dream is a muddle of actual events from my history but I have no idea why my brain has resurrected them).

Nice to see a fellow guitarist here! :)

I also dreamt of ice and snow! How odd! My dream was much less structured, though. It consisted of two guys shovelling salt and cinder onto icy streets while I kept telling them that it was going to rain shortly, and they were wasting their time.
Yeah, that was it

cockroaches. I dreamed that there were a couple around and no matter how hard or many time I hit them, they still lived to scurry around.

There was also a little one that had extremely long antennae (at least five times it's body size). I didn't try to kill that one. I don't know why.

I might point out this wasn't a nightmare. I wasn't scared, or horrified by them. More just curious that they wouldn't die. When I woke up, my heart wasn't beating quickly.

I woke up because the dream was boring me. Cracked my neck, rolled over and went back to sleep.

I think my dream self's ego was stung with my last posting. This better exemplifies a dream I have (when I have them).

Vivid:
I was a third party, floating, non-participant.
By a fluke of nature, a man is found with a storage cavity in his heart. Such people, I learned, are called Jacobians (there was an obscure reference to an ancient text which supported the following suspicion). The man (some sort of security or officer) who caught him was telling this to his partner. He suspected that the man with a storage cavity was carrying some sort of bomb. "that's what Jacobians are, suicidal bombers."

In fact, we (me, the security officer and his partner) find out that Jacobians are actually couriers. They have a nearly fatal heart attack which prompts them to needing a stint inserted, which is when they are approached by the organization that requires couriers (nothing is told about who or what "they" are). For allowing themselves to have a small organic storage cavity inserted as well as the stint, they are given, besides their expensive medical bills for having the operation being paid for and an regular allowance of funds, first class tickets whenever they are carrying important information, first class hotels accommodations wherever they go, etc etc.

What they carry is usually information into hostile territory that can't be brought in by any other means (internet, letters, microdot, etc). It is also brought up that exposing a courier would risk the entire network. Whatever information is put into the (organic) storage chamber is likewise organic or lacking physicality which avoids x-ray scans, etc.

I woke up just before the security/police officer made up his mind whether to expose the operation, or not.

Sorry. I guess that is a little more than five sentences.

Can you cntrol your dreams at all? I enjoy being able to do so ( even in my dreams I find it hard to relax:eek:) but it means I can enjoy a dream and follow the story for a while, even direct it often into a direction of I do not like where it is going. I try to be more of a passenger to my dreams unless I am dreaming horrific/upsetting things as opposed to things that are bad but factual/ a bit sad but just laid out as part of the dream. For example, I had a dream this week that my parents were dying and it was not particularly 'upsetting' it was just part of the dream. But the same could have been a night mare, in which case I would have directed it otherwise.

Lucid dreaming? Yes, I can do that at times.
It's almost always in the early morning and I'm somewhere between sleep and conciousness. Sometimes it's when I have bad dreams and change the course rather than waking up.
I first noticed it when I was trying to get rid of a recurring nightmare in my teens and early twenties. The dream lost power and faded when I stopped trying to get away within the dream.

Yes, I can occasionally, successfully dream lucidly. I always have this epiphany - I'm dreaming! Then it gets really good from there :) I used to do it a lot more when I had less stress and worries, and I slept more, and better. But it still happens occasionally.

Yes, lucid, that's the word.

See, if I were collar, I would have wanted to know why they were so insistent on shovelling and asked them. The answer might have been interesting. Or not.....:).

I love it when I get surprised in a dream. Like when I open a kitchen door but walk out into the night instead, or into a ballroom or something. I love that my own brain can surprise me like that :)

I was a thriving again last night, this time stealing an ancient, magical artifact from a witch that couldn't see very well  I switched out the real one for a fake, and then rode off on a bicycle. I was a totally bald man with glasses, wearing a turquoise suit  Then end.

The witch really could not see well if she missed a turquoise suit!

I had an odd night. Not 'dreams' that I remember but I was woken twice by 'hearing' my name called in an urgent manner by a female voice that I should be able to identify but cannot.

This happens to me as well. Hynagogic, or hypnopompic hallucinations (depending if you have them upon falling asleep, or at waking). My name is usually accompanied by a door slam sound, at which point I become wide awake and have to go check all the doors. Grrrrrr....
