What do you enjoy eating?

Just about everyone I know gets very very disturbed when I order it and even more so when I start eating it though.

It's quite unfortunate.

Chili dogs
Pizza
Chicken Fried Steak
Cheesecake
Gelato
Seafood
Chex Mix

How I am not diabetic or overweight is beyond me.

I wonder why?

A ninety-pound waif eating a steak that looks like it could quite possibly come up off the plate has that effect on people. A former roommate and dear friend who lives in LA presently as a model used to illicit a similar reaction when she enjoyed her steaks rare.

It's a filet .. ok. I can't see how that matters.. Steak, especially Filet are .. people are and I quote "Fucking weird."

If people got up in my face about how, what, and why I eat what I eat.. they would get a fork in the face.

I don't understand the reaction, myself. Fork, huh?

I'd go for the knee. Then they can fall and I can kick them when they're down.

I think most people just get disturbed by the blood.

and I'm no longer at the 90 pound mark, I've gained weight since. but even at 120 I still get disturbed looks.

I've had people correct the waitress about how I want my steak.
"No no no, she didn't mean rare. She meant well done."
Poor waitress had to intervene to convince them to stay out of what I wanted to eat.

We live in a time where people are concerned about their health for some reason. Maybe they're just jealous that you're not a slave to the whole "eat healthy" thing.

I know, yet people seem to make that assumption because it's cooked all the way.

I usually have my steaks 'blue', actually. That's less cooked than rare - they just sear the outside lightly.

"Just lop the horns off, wipe it's ass, and put it on my plate, please." :D

Oh lord, I would really have stabbed them with a Fork.
I'm bloody old enough to order for myself and I sure as hell know what I bloody well want.

I've had one person try to correct my order. I don't like Nuts on my sunday, I never have.. so this stupid git sees me eating my sunday and I am as happy as a clam an the stupid bastard poors nuts on it "See, it's better." and he was quite surprised when I put it on his plate.. which had a slice of pie on it at the time and slapped him upside the head.

My Uncle never touched my food again on fear of death.

I rather enjoy tempura-battered calamari, I'm a huge sushi fan (well, most sushi), I love gyros, cheese-steaks, pizza (most conventional configurations as well as my usual buffalo chicken, green peppers, and red onions), fried rice (again, most fried rice. Not all fried rice is made equal.), steak and potatoes is never a bad choice, and let's see...all forms of cheesecake and similar desserts.

And as per my usual perverted self, I shall further add that I enjoy eating pussy, devouring the clam, munching on the carpet, and all those other derogatory terms for cunnilingus.

I love sashimi. Yellow tail, Uni (sea urchin), Ikura (Salmon Roe), Mackerel .... just to name a few
Tempura Ice Cream...

-scratches head at "devouring the clam and munching on the carpet"- I've never heard of those before..... I suppose I should add it to my notes....

Edit: I don't think I could quite slap my mom or dad upside the head for trying to order for me. But perhaps if I did, they'd stop harassing me at steak houses about what I eat, and avoid progressing into the whole religious lecture on how its unbiblical to consume blood. But then again, it might fall into a situation where they might want to exorcise the devil from me if I tried that.... =p

lol. I hate when people mess with my food much less trying to take food off my plate.

Never tried Uni...been tempted though. My grandma loves Ikura, but I find it to be a bit too overpoweringly salty and "fishy" if that makes sense.

Those are quite possibly regional, national, and/or I may have just heard them in a bar or online somewhere.

Hmm...I was under the impression that the red stuff (at least in packaged meat products) wasn't blood at all. I read it somewhere...can't remember where, but I do recall them explaining that it was actually just water and some other stuff for preserving the color of the meat.

I'll try that explanation with my mom next time. It might be enough to derail her.

If you're not a fan of Ikura, then I think Uni has a stronger fishy taste. At least it has a much stronger fishy smell. I definitely understand the salty and fishy aspect of Ikura. Those I prefer with rice. just so I can lighten the blow. I think I like Uni and Ikura for the texture, not so much for the taste

I hope that works for you. It's no fun to have people nitpicking something as simple as food choice.

Duly noted on the smell/texture thing. I got a sushi rolling kit for xmas, so I bought stuff to make california rolls. I think next time I'm going to try a Nigiri variety plate sort of thing. Tuna, salmon, shrimp. *starts to drool and shuts up to avoid ruining his keyboard*

I'd like to add Barbecue to the list (Shame on me for not putting on sooner, I'm from Texas) ribs, sausage, chicken, steak, and of course brisket (so damn good). Also Mexican food, tacos, enchiladas, chimichangas (tex- mex technically but still good) all of it.

Good call, Spectre.

-Offers Spectre some of her baby back ribs she fixed for dinner today- It's my second try. I'm quite proud of it! The guys all seem to love fall off the bone ribs, they disappear so fast.
