Whenever I go to the chat rooms, I get around 2-3 new chat requests per minute. They just keep popping up. Way too hectic. And then, if you actually find someone interesting, you can't even mark them for next time or keep the thread. It's all about instant gratification - with total strangers. Other chat sites do this much better.

But the forums are a very enjoyable experience

If you want to chat, you'd be much better off just sending a PM in the forums. I hardly ever go to the chat and when I do, I'm most likely in too many chats immediately

Never tried the chat though I’ve seen it. The forum is where everyone is and it’s easy to connect and message. A delay may occur because of availability but I’m annoyed if chatting gets disconnected as some other have mentioned.

I miss the days of the AOL chatrooms. They had it right limited number of people in the rooms you could DM with ease and easily block those who you didnt want to interact with.

I would imagine as a woman PM in the forums is best...you can weed through looking at profiles to decide if you want to engage or not.....the men to women ratio is crazy......I've looked at the chatroom but it looks extremely chaotic to me

I loveee the forum!

For some reason I’ve only been able to get onto the chat room a few times but otherwise it says it’s not available/working. I’m guessing it’s because I’m on my phone but whatever!

I truthfully prefer the forum anyways, I like being able to go back and forth and read things people say again, and the direct message function

What is your favorite?

I've only tried the chat a few times and found it to move too quickly for me with no structure.

AOL chat got my "online cherry" and I had a few ongoing relationships ranging from several months to a year or more. Maybe it was the times but I believe there were many fewer men posting as women as there are on Lit.
I found it easy to initiate a conversation on AOL Chat and then continue in PM's from there. I met a few very "interesting" ladies there and to this day I sometimes wonder what happened to them.
