We never know who or how in life...

great marketing campaign.EJ if I can add... write on the back of the pictures the who, what, where and when of it all. Ask aunts, uncles ect. I have a photo album that I was lucky enough to be able to add that info and it makes it so cool.EJFan said:a relative found a bunch of old photographs in their attic recently. my grandmother's going to go through them to see if she can figure out what any of them are. i have little to no idea what they are but it's nice to look at them. one, i've learned, is my grandmother's christening (circa 1912)... she was very young then.
it was nice seeing my uncle's old milk and garbage trucks. i also stumbled on an old handbill for my great grandfather's garage in PA... it's touted as being a fireproof garage and having reasonable prices.great marketing campaign.
thanks cate.Cathleen said:EJ if I can add... write on the back of the pictures the who, what, where and when of it all. Ask aunts, uncles ect. I have a photo album that I was lucky enough to be able to add that info and it makes it so cool.
Great find!

I'm chuckling here because there were similar photos in my grandmother's album too. There were photos of WW I ships and sailors, they didn't remember all the names but it was enough to feel the family bond deeper. It was also a good reminder to write on the pictures we have today.EJFan said:thanks cate.i'm glad you lucked out with yours... not so sure we'll be able to, but we'll try. most of the pictures have no info on them (just a few with years written on them). oddly, one picture of cows has a note on the back, "a few of my father's cows."
amazing how these people prioritized.

she said she'll get into them tomorrow... i'll check with her tomorrow to see if she came up with anything. the photos aren't in very good shape and her vision is pretty poor but we'll see what she figures out.Scalywag said:I'll bet you grandmother is enjoying it as much, if not more, that you are.

to you, too. will you read me a bedtime story too? pleeeeeeeeeease????? I was thinking that it might have been Animal House because of the scene with Karen Allen where you get to see his butt, but I can see where his M*A*S*H character would give you a little more crush-making material.bobsgirl said:The year was 1971, I was seventeen, and the movie was M*A*S*H.
