I think for me it would have to be Evanescense's Fallen. A tremendous album in its own right, but thanks to Pandora, it served as the jump-off point into the genre of symphonic metal. I've been in love with it ever since.
I agree. I just posted about Fleetwood Macs Rumors being a huge influence on my choice of music. Here is a link to a cover by Evernesce of my favorite song off that album. The Chain

There are three Portishead albums and the concerts. Or Einsturzende Neubaten's 2x4. That's all I have by that band. The liner notes say they their live performances are better than the studio albums, so maybe there's a better concert album.

Pink Floyd The Wall
is my most memorable album i used to own. (Had it on true old fashioned vinyl)

Ive loved the music since i was a teen..
At age 18, some friends and i went on an acid trip and it was a nice, mellow type high.

There was the BF of my friend there whom i never talked to before that night really.
That night, we couldn't get enough of each other.. Mentally.

It was us, listening to The Wall, just enjoying the presence of one another with zero sex.

My friend wasn't happy i was almost spiritually connecting with her BF but we explained to her it was just the acid trip.

Good times!

I know I am showing my age with this, Please Please Me by The Beatles in 1963, completely changed the musical landscape for me.

The two that spring to my mind are Psychocandy - The Jesus and Mary Chain and The White Room - KLF
...the latter spawning the classic Justified and Ancient with Tammy Wynette!

Both hugely influential and reminiscent of the times... gigs, girls and university life.

The Ugly Duckling and Tulips from Amsterdam. Great songs that bring a lump in my trousers.

Jagged Little Pill is one I keep returning to. I especially love the acoustic version of that album.
Stadium Arcadium is always in rotation as well

If I have to pick only one. Above all others, It will have to be Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon. To this day, I listen to it with headphones and am blown away.

However, there is another album that has made a significant impact in my life. "Siembra" By Willie Colon and Ruben Blades. I listen to it quite often. Salsa music.

So many great albums mentioned here, but for me the biggest album that made a difference in my life was Fleetwood Mac's Rumors. It was the first adult LP my parents bought for me on my 13th birthday. Opened a whole new world of music for me.
In no particular order Dark Side, Aja, and Rumors. I couldn’t pick one over the other in all honesty. Except…

I had two cousins in DC…they were 10-12 yrs older than me. One of my dearest memories from childhood was riding in her MG, top down, my 10 yr old arse wedged between the two seats and the gear shift, Lynn’s long blond hair whipping my face in the wind and she and Alan singing songs from Rumors blasting from the 8-track!
