Uriah Heep, "Look At Yourself." I just read that their keyboardist and founding member Ken Hensley died, and so I found myself thinking of this song. I actually owned the record of this at one time; it had a circular mirror on the cover.


They were a great classic British rock band, and (in my opinion) even though they weren't a metal band as such, I think a lot of metal bands that came later owe a lot to their sound.

And I wasn't even a particularly big fan of the band, or even late 80's glam rock in general. It's just that, a female co-worker, was. And this was one of her favorites from that era, and or some reason I was just thinking of the song, and that era of music, and it got stuck in my head.

I think I'm gonna have to listen to some the harder/faster 80's stuff I used to dig, just to get this song OUT of my head. Celtic Frost or Morbid Angel, maybe.

Funny that its 530 in the morning here and after a pleasant night watching movies and necking a few bottles of Australian Shiraz, I thought I would jump onto Lit for a last look before going to bed... And this thread happens to be at the top of the list.

Only been on here for six months, but it's been a great time for me, despite all the shit in the real world. I've wrote a story, that was well received, talked with some truly fascinating people and posted more than a few dirty pictures...

Since this is post number six hundred and sixty six for me, the only song that could be in my head right now is Iron Maiden's "Number of the Beast" (link below). Seen this band five times (four times in Scotland and once at Download, although I will always refer to that particular festival as "Monsters of Rock").

Been listening to Metal for over thirty years now, so much so, that I am almost deaf in my left ear...
