I've always disliked The Ataris, but I suppose "San Dimas High School Football Rules" represents a kind of ur-stupidity for me. And I say this knowing that this is a rather well-structured pop song, and that the sentiment is no more or less "stupid" than any number of other Silly Love Songs(tm) that I adore. Heck, the first verse even starts out in a sort of interesting way, with the Disneyland dream as this weird image of utopian love. But then that disastrous second verse, and then the awful bridge, and the verses just get worse, culminating in the most egregious pop lyric error, the direct-address name drop ("Whitney, don't you understand...") Pop foul!

Baby Got Back is kinda stupid however the clubs don't think so. They play that song still today.
