What the hell are you doing here?

OMG! I so opened the proverbial can of worms.

Just a word of caution is all. In the beginning it was very difficult to figure out the politics and the difference between SRP and lounge 'behavior' but basically if you attach yourself to someone as a Master/sub/girlfriend etc then you should only play with that person in the lounge and not others except in SRP's. Of course everyone is a little different - thats what ceates Lit drama!!
You wouldn't want to get a bad reputation now would you?;)

really? weird, I could undersdtand if you were someones 'slave' then randomly signed up with another master, but just fooling about? dam

Errr yes >.< people make connections and friends with their co writers and lounge pals behind the scenes here, that's how dramas spark. Everyone is backstabbing or betraying someone else by talking to someone the other person doesn't like or blah blah and so on.

Unfortunately people can get downright childish about it and don't know when to grow up and let things go, i've been pulled into lots of them knowing so many writers here but I'm never the reason for the dramas, I just get the circle close in on me.

Far too laid back and Aussie-ish to make a fuss in real life let alone online hehehe :D

that all sounds alittle overboard to me, like you said, australians dont even get worked up in real life, why would we online?

Lol you knew what you were doing Trix

Oooo can I have the bad rep?! I want one, I think too many people like me...I need to be more bitchy...unfortunately I'm just wayyyy too good at making people piss themselves laughing

Yeah I hate that Lit sub/Master thing, my relationship is on Lit and in RL but my Master doesn't put such petty limitations on me, he realizes it's nothing compared to what he gets from me ;)

But yeah, people see something different *coughs The Chamber coughs* and they freak out about it. It was harsh for this forum I suppose but it was appropriate and I wasn't expecting such a huge reaction to it!

 Seriously, I was talking people off ledges over that!

Did you know there was a divorce case in the USA where the couple first met on Second Life? They became a RL couple and married but she went on to divorce her husband because he was screwing around with virtual people via an internet connection on the same site they met on in the first place!

What planet do these people live on?

Uranus?

Oh no she didn't just go there...yes she did...Oh ma goddddd

But it left me drooling!:D

*Triumphant grin and an overly dramatic bow*

Shweet! :D So it was still a win?! Damn, even in a punishment I'm hot stuff

that all sounds alittle overboard to me, like you said, australians dont even get worked up in real life, why would we online?

Yay another Aussie? Shweet...now I know...ummm...three
Good lord where are the Australians in this section?!

You can still edit posts if you right click the edit button and open the page in a new tab. I use Firefox but theoretically it should work like that on other browsers.
You can also click on the number of the post you want to edit (in the top right corner) and then when only that post is showing, for some reason you can edit as normal. Some geek in the BDSM Cafe figured that out.

Thank you both I am lost with out my edit!!

Bella where an earth did you get that idea LMAO. Most Masters and their subs play around in the lounges with whomever they want , with a few small exceptions.

Masters have subs who have subs who have Masters, people are owned, half owned owned bt many !

Any thing goes here on SRP :D:devil:

Oh Dear! is this turning in to another hate thread? I do hope not:( :rose:

Oh I dont actually believe that's how it should be. Just a word of caution to new members that different rules apply to the SRP's and lounge area's in a lot of members minds which makes it easy to start drama where you not have been looking for it.

1. What brought you to Lit and specifically to this forum?
I went to the playground first. I was looking for someone to meet, and people to talk to via RL, because I hate the Bar Scene. As a Nerd the Internet is easier.

2. How long did you lurk?
Bout a Day

3. Why did you stop lurking?
Felt I knew the rules, and finished reading the actual Lit Rules.

4. What has kept you here?
SRP and Friends.

5. Does anybody in your real life know you visit Lit?
Yep. Many people in my Real Life are on Lit. Most know about it, I think it''s only the people at work who don't. My job and my life are kept very separate.

6. Have you ever met someone in real life who you first got acquainted with on Lit?
Yep. Lady Reiha has been my Girlfriend about four years, and we've been living together almost 3.

7. Are you also a regular poster on one or more of the other subforums? If so, what drew you to the other subforum(s)?
Nope just here, Started in the playground though, where more people wanted to have sex with me. Occasionally if nerd Power has an interesting topic I will still go back to talk.

8. General Lit/SRP Forum thoughts?
I wish there was less drama but hey whatever.

Alright all other things considered, I do have a lounge/IM policy. It's ask twice. For this reason I basically don't play at all except in threads. Also I prefer to write stories, I'm not really here to cyber about. Not to say, I won't, or I haven't, I just like that erotica comes with a story when I write a thread. (Well most of the time.)

As for drama, yeah it's gonna happen. I deal with it too, but here's the kick. If my woman asks for my time, and tells me that she wants me to come spend time with her instead of the computer. I go to her, as she's priority number one. I ask twice, if it's ok with her and the person I might be playing with and the number of moods I've killed stopping flirting or something that might lead to cyber, to say Is this ok with you? and those closest to you? and if they don't know I'm stopping.

But eh. I'm paranoid and believe in full disclosure of facts.

Great advice CT!
My comment was not to start any drama I swear, just a simple heads up to a new member to take into consideration that everyone here looks at plat a bit differently and to take some time to know how the ones you are writing with either in SRP or in the lounge view the differences to avoid stepping on too many toes.

1. What brought you to Lit and specifically to this forum? (This is more of a philosophical question. If you say “the Internet” or "Google" I will be forced to smack you)
I came here on my own in search of bondage and N/C stories. Somehow or another Google led me here. I still have no idea what I typed in to link me to a story on Lit, but it did, and I stayed.

2. How long did you lurk?
A day perhaps. Maybe two. I still lurk even now though.

3. Why did you stop lurking?
After I read a few posts and figured out that I could play along I started writing.

4. What has kept you here?
Ongoing stories that I really want to know the ending to, great writers (when you find them), and great friends (when you make them)

5. Does anybody in your real life know you visit Lit?
Yes, the people that I've found 'safe' enough to tell, like my significant other and best friends.

6. Have you ever met someone in real life who you first got acquainted with on Lit?
No.

7. Are you also a regular poster on one or more of the other subforums? If so, what drew you to the other subforum(s)?
Nope. I never left the SRP

8. General Lit/SRP Forum thoughts?
It's a great place to be. It's a place where I can be proud of my writing without feeling bad because of it's sexual theme. I've really expanded a lot of my limits and boundaries here in a safe medium. I've also learned a LOT here from different people... and not necessarily sex related either. (of course a lot of that too...)

Alright I guess I'll do it.

Don't remember the specifics of how I got here, but if you're asking why I'm here, I'd say it's because I like roleplaying and was interested in a site that wasn't so restricted to PG-13 like most others.

2. How long did you lurk?

Don't know. Not very long.

3. Why did you stop lurking?

Because I wanted to write, not read.

4. What has kept you here?

The people I enjoy writing with, and also boredom.

5. Does anybody in your real life know you visit Lit?

Nope. Though I'm not in a relationship currently. If I were, I'd most likely tell her.

6. Have you ever met someone in real life who you first got acquainted with on Lit?

Nope.

7. Are you also a regular poster on one or more of the other subforums? If so, what drew you to the other subforum(s)?

8. General Lit/SRP Forum thoughts?

It's a good forum with talented writers. When I first looked in here I was expecting mostly men trying to find the one or two women around to partake in some "boss fucks his secretary" thread. Not that there's anything wrong with that. It's just not what I was looking for. I was pleasantly surprised to see a lot of creative people, both men and women, with interests like my own. Who were interested in actually telling a story.

Ideally this forum would a lot larger so if you could think of a situation, there would be someone to write it with you, or that your thread would never be hurting for players. However, the small community feel is also nice and I sort of fear what would happen if it got too crowded.

People saying they wished there was no drama is understandable but it's an unrealistic expectation. When you're dealing with a wide variety of personalities, it's going to happen, especially when anonymity is involved. For the most part I've felt there's very little drama here, but I also don't venture outside the few threads I post in, so maybe I'm just lucky.

Feels like what little drama I've seen has actually been caused by me. Not that I don't expect it when I like to speak my mind.

Oh Dear! is this turning in to another hate thread? I do hope not:( :rose:

I don't think so Yeishia, it is just a discussion thread...so far I have just been absolutely sarcastic...as if no one could tell

But it's just healthy discussion about something that so often arises but usually the topic gets swept under the rug. Yeah it's true people have differing personalities and whatever but as far as I'm concerned with online friends, they can conduct themselves as they wish. I once got pulled too far into something with an online friend and I won't do it again.

I will be me and me doesn't care :D

And kittenofdeath - sig picture is not helping your gender case any either sweetie, sorry!

Oh and CT you are my absolute hero, I hope my ending is half as happy as yours! :rose:

Since I've been peeking, I should probably follow suit.

1. What brought you to Lit and specifically to this forum?

I had discovered an interest in reading more in depth adult stories and found Lit's Main Site, slowly meandering on to the forum. I had already been writing adult RP's on MSN and Yahoo groups, so seeing a whole section for it here kinda drew me in.

2. How long did you lurk?

A few days? I created a name, forgot its password when I moved, created a new name, had it develop "technical difficulties" (Fae_Bella), then created this name. (Get all that?)

3. Why did you stop lurking?

Curiosity got the best of me. "I wanna play too!"
That, and Mister discovered that Lily being on here equaled interesting after effects for him.
He told me to go delve further.
Plus my MSN/Y! Groups dissolved. Must... write... stories...

4. What has kept you here?

E-friends. As strange, perverted, and fucked up as they may be, they've somehow grown on me. Writing with them helps to destress, they've got incredibly creative minds, and its nice to have someone to talk to when bored.

That and the whole Mister thing above.

5. Does anybody in your real life know you visit Lit?

I think I've gone over that twice now.
I did tell a college buddy about it but I don't think he ever logged on... or understood what I was talking about.

6. Have you ever met someone in real life who you first got acquainted with on Lit?

"Met" in person? No. But I do talk to CT and Reiha on the phone once in awhile.

7. Are you also a regular poster on one or more of the other subforums? If so, what drew you to the other subforum(s)?

The how-to.
Because I'm a fucking know-it-all who doesn't know shit; my fair share of attempts at answers, while trying to make sense of things myself.

8. General Lit/SRP Forum thoughts?

The petty wars that go on once in awhile. Good lord. It's the internet. If something's bothering you, turn off the damn computer.

As for the "cheating"... I could understand if Lit was used as a launching point for an actual physical meeting where "events" took place. But talking with someone via the net, on any subject, doesn't equate to cheating to me. No physical "harm" was done. Mister and I agreed a long time ago, after I told him about those other RP's, that what happened on the net had no effect on our relationship unless it led to someone knocking on our door looking for one of us. ("And then it depends on who it is," he had added half-jokingly...) It's just words on a screen, a story created. Maybe its because I'm an actor, I don't know; but words create of a scene, a scene comes to an end, the characters cease and the actors return to their real lives. Mister knows I'm on here, he knows I talk to people, our conversations on varying subjects. There's a difference between the person I am on Lit and my true persona. Am I pretending to be someone else? No. It's just that RL Lily isn't completely as open as Lit Lily. I allow myself to be the way I'd prefer to be on here.

...

Dammit. I forgot where I was going with all that.

I was looking for sex stories to get off. One website had a link here so I checked it out. I found the forums completely by accident. I started role playing mostly cause of the ORP threads. Cool quirky characters, plot twists, and concepts intrigue me much more than sex... although you combine all of that and then you got something really entertaining.

2. How long did you lurk?

I don't think I ever did. By the time I realized I could jump into a post and play I set up an account. 10 minutes, maybe?

3. Why did you stop lurking?

I love to write, I love to role play, and I love sex... there was no reason to lurk.

4. What has kept you here?

Friends. Like minded writers. Discovering myself as well. I think I have learned more through my writing and my fantasies on this forum than anywhere else. Maybe not learned more, but definitely had an outlet to explore that I didn't at home.

5. Does anybody in your real life know you visit Lit?

Some old college friends, I suppose. Family and co-workers? Ummm, no.

6. Have you ever met someone in real life who you first got acquainted with on Lit?

I did. She lived in Canada. We had a very fun weekend together.

7. Are you also a regular poster on one or more of the other subforums? If so, what drew you to the other subforum(s)?

Nope. I think at one time I enjoyed the How To forums. And the Author's hangout. But this seems to be the place that keeps calling my interest more than others.

8. General Lit/SRP Forum thoughts?

Nothing I can think of.
