What's Good Domain Name?

Hey, would you mind registering the domain name if I send you some money? I wanna register it outside the US.

Go to MSN or whatever. Let's talk.

I'm not gonna be outside of the US (in Canada) until September.

And Ravin, so you can register sites and have their "home" be wherever you want - despite where you are living?

Yeah, but I don't know why you would want to. I am in Canada, so I got my hosting in Cananda. In fact, I am about 3 hours from where my server is located, so I have high speeds going to it and amazing bandwith. I would suggest registering in the country you live in, because a)the laws you will know and b)bandwith will be better.

Most people viewing my site are Canadian and American, so seems dumb to register the domain anywhere else. BUT the server is different. This is something different. The domain can be registered anywhere. Once you buy the domain, you own it. BUT the HOSTING is located in different areas. Now the group I went with, domain registering was part of the deal. And since I got a .ca, I am a total Canadian group.

But again, stay in the same country you are in. You wont run into any law shit, and if you have a problem and need to call them, you are not calling overseas and in differenr time zones. Plus, if the server goes down, you can kinda see whats going on inside your country faster.

You can register it anymore, you just got to find the right host for it. My hosting company is in Canada (so am I) and my address is under Canadian law. Just find a company in Cananda, UK or anywhere else if you want to do it outside US.

Ravin

My friends lawyer is advising us to register it overseas and host it overseas. (for what we're doing)

Yeah, it would need to be registered overseas, Raven, 'cause its to bypass the new US law.

Oh yeah, the law that Lit is getting hit for as well. Just make sure your hosting company allows that sort of thing online. Some say they do, but they still don't.

In choosing a name, run it through various search engines first. Determine how, & where the name stands/ranks as far as traffic goes, and how it will hold up to competition of sites with similar content and domain name.

Also, pay attention to which top key words people across the internet are plugging into those search engines ... a combination using a --- dash --- btween two or more of the more common key words related to a site's content makes for a good name that will turn out a TON of traffic (among many other factors, ...to include *but not limited to* ... the 'maxing out' of keywords throughout all meta tags as well as content) ... As far as my domains are concerned, in my opinion, it's not worth coding the html (or whichever format chosen) of an entire site from scratch of the top of my head exclusively done in notepad ... if it won't turn out a max of traffic. What good is any site if no one surfs it??

Since this was pretty much your idea, how about brinnieworld.com?

I've already stated that this is a co-op. There is no "I" in Team.

Hey, since you're in Canada, would you mind registering us a domain? I'll send you the money via PayPal. :)

My brain is sorta addled tonight, but I'll try and think of some names and get back with you.

Thanks, brinnie, for inviting me over!

It's ONLY sad when you are not aware of the 'go arounds' involved with the system ..

Try this site to search the availability of domain names: http://www.whois.sc/name-spinner/?q=Literotica&tab=2

A particular name may be already taken as .com, or .net etc ect ... while other's for that particular name such as .org or .biz may be available.

ALSO, play around with the wording/spelling etc (spelling as in pluralized rather than singular form etc .. vs MISspelling) and the possibilities improve a bit.

Examples:

1) EroticExpress already has a .com & a .net .. (the rest appear to be still available) ... where as, EroticExpression is 100% available.

2)EroticBliss: Has a .com & the rest are still open.

3) EroticPleasure, 1 taken, six available. EroticPleasures ... 4 taken, 3 available.

And, yes ... i know you are seaking domains outside of the US .. and you would still benefit by first researching a particular domain names potential regarding already established search rankings or similarly named domains which would be competition with regard to traffic.

And read the following: .web

To date, they claim that, "Universal/International Appeal: Many international domains require foreign registration criteria to be met. Web.com Domain Names can be registered worldwide without restriction." .

*shrugs*
As long as the info is current regarding the changes with the latest info regarding the laws to soon impend upon adult sites .... sounds good to me.

*shrugs*
Do your homework. Research it.

I'm, starting to like erotictouch too. ;)

I like this one, too.

The only thing I'm coming up with now, and which appears to be available, is erotikfantasy.net.

Ok, I'll try my hand..

How about

Fantacism
ExcessiveErotica
CrossingTheBoundary
EroticExile
EroticEscape
SuggestiveArt

Just a few for starters...
:rolleyes:

EroticExpression is a good fit as well.... I like that..

Fantacism = ALL available
ExcessiveErotica = ALL available
CrossingTheBoundary = ALL available (A bit long for a domain name [why include prepositions which search engines tend to ignore anyway?], and crossingboundaries is more practical with 3 out of 4 available. However, crossedboundaries = ALL available).
EroticExile = ALL available
EroticEscape = 5 of 7 available.
SuggestiveArt = ALL available

EroticKinkdom = (a spin off on the word 'kingdom', mispelled but with purpose ..catchy ..) ALL available
EroticKink = 6 of 7 available
Kinkrotica = ALL available
Sexyrotica = ALL available

I know,

what I'm saying is that we NEED someone in Europe (or Canada) to register it FOR us.

I'm not saying purchase it for us- hell, we allready got the money. I allready said I'd send it over- I just need someone to register the domain in a non-us country. I can even provide instructions if someone would say "Okay, I'll do it". :)

As for the naming part, I'm determined on getting a .com.

And I'm not worried about page rank or any of that crap. I have SEO skills. I don't need to bank on some previous owners handy-down PR. :eek:

you do
realize
that as folks
do due diligence
on potential
domain names...
(i.e. searches for availability)
those names
are triggered to
homesteaders?

when you do dd
on a name,
be prepared to
snap it
if available...

been there...
been screwed.
