What's on television? Have you watched a good TV series of movie lately?

I'm keeping up on Fear The Walking Dead. I plan on re-watching Supernatural.

Not a fan of zombies and vampires but after being hooked on American Horror Story, Hotel, and vampires, I need to give zombies another chance.

The program is highly reviewed and seemingly well received. I need to watch an episode to see.

Thank you.

Jessica Jones on Netflix, based on Marvel's Alias series.

Like the Netflix daredevil series, dark, gritty, and in this one, a fair amount of PG-13 sex. Also introduced Luke Cage(power man) who is supposed to get his own show next.

It featured Patsy Walker who in the comics eventually became Hell Cat, but never know these days what they will stick to continuity wise and what they won't.

The only downside to it was the villain Killgrave, was annoying as all hell.

I cant see so I watch no television or movies. I mean, if I press my nose against the screen I can see, but that's not optimal or even okay.

Well, the Patriots won.

"Yeah!"

Now, they're 12 and 2 and are now firmly in 1st place with the second best record. It just may be the Patriots and Carolina in the Super Bowl.

Brady against Newton. I like that match up. Carolina hasn't faced a quality team yet. They'd lose.

I forced myself to watch the Steelers only to see if the Patriots would get a bye if the Steelers won and they did.

I hate their quarterback, big Ben, the rapist.

With all of the great Oscar winning movies and all of the great Emmy winning TV series, after debating it long and hard, my favorite thing to watch on television is...watching the Patriots win a football game.

The only thing better than that is watching the Patriots win the Super Bowl.

"Wow!"

I'm on the last episode of season 3 of Luther. So far it's held my interest. Only, I'm so frustrated that the police don't carry weapons.

I would have pulled the trigger on a dozen people already (lol), two were cop killers.

Mary is wicked pretty, Luther's new girlfriend. I just hope nothing happens to her. I'll find out in episode 4 before going on the Episode 1 of Season 4.

Lately I've been watching "Rick and Morty" - discovered it half way through the season and am catching up on it as they broadcast it on the toon network.

Also catch "The Nightly Show" and best of all, "At Midnight". Also have a bunch of the PBS series "Father Brown" on the DVR as well as various science shows like "How the Universe Works."

There's others but those are the ones we catch more than any.

Edited: "Fargo" the tv series had me at the edge of my couch every episode.

I've watched all of the episodes of How the Universe works. Amazing especially when they discuss black holes, supernovas, and Quasars. It makes me realize not only how insignificant we are in the scheme of thing but how amazing the universe is.

Soon, according to Dr. Stephen Hawking and Einsteins unproven theory of space and time, we can bend space to travel from one end to the other when not going through wormholes. Now they're even saying that one day we'll be able to travel through a black hole.

"Wow!"

I've watched both seasons of Fargo, as well as the movie. I like the first series of Fargo with Billy Bob Thornton, he stole the show, especially with that elevator scene in Vegas. That was inspired and totally unexpected.

I only wish I had kept a count on how many people he had killed. Talk about a serial killer. He must have shot, stabbed, and bludgeoned nearly 100 people.

The only thing that came close to his performance was when he played opposite of Haley Berry in Monster's Ball. That sex scene was....memorable (lol).

Thank you for your post.

Jack Taylor is an Irish television drama based on the Ken Bruen novel series. Set in Galway, the program features Iain Glen in the eponymous role of Jack Taylor, a former officer with the Garda Síochána (national police) who becomes a "finder" (private investigator) after leaving the service. Taylor looks for clues others have overlooked. He also knows the streets of his hometown like the back of his hand.

Ever since I can remember, I've watched a lot of television. Growing up in a single parent home that quickly turned into an absentee parent home, the television was my babysitter and entertainment. Suffice to say that when not writing I watch a lot of TV.

I watch a lot of House Hunter. I prefer that to House Hunter international. It's fun to watch how people react to one another. Some couples I really like and others I don't.

I just finished watching Fargo, the TV series and I just started watching Luther. It's interesting but violent. I don't mind the violence as much as I don't like the torture. Ruth Wilson who plays Alice Morgan steals the show. There's something about her character that makes you stare at her on the screen. She also stars in The Affair.

I recently finished watching Ray Donovan. That was good and some of it is shot in South Boston and Justified with Timothy Olyphant is over. Hell on Wheels was pretty good too.

Blacklist is one of my favorites. Only, I can't help but think of James Spader when he played Mr. Grey opposite Maggie Gyllenhaal in The Secretary. Now, that was a hot movie (lol).

"Lift your skirt up past your hips and pull down your panties. Now put your elbows on the desk and lean forward."

I rarely watch a movie again but I watched that movie a few times. My other favorite movie is the Professional, Natalie Portman's first movie. The movie is about an Italian hit man played by Jean Reno (a Frenchman). Gary Oldman gives an unbelievable performance a doped up DEA agent.

Of course there's Godfather 1 & 2 and the Soprano's, but the best series that I ever saw on television was Deadwood. I loved that show. Everyone was a cocksucker in that series.

Schindler's List, Pulp Fiction, Good Will Hunting (obviously with the Boston connection, Cambridge actually), Heat, Casino, Fargo, No Country for Old Men, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, and The Graduate are movies that I'd watch again.

What about you? Do you have any favorite movies or TV series?

Interesting. Not an easy thing to do but you stumped me. I haven't seen any of those shows. Are they all from the UK?

Yes, and the beauty of them is that they are cop shows and detective shows and unlike US show they solve problems with their brains not firearms.

Yeah but...when the police think in America...it hurts their head.

Better to put a bullet in someone than a thought.

My current favorite shows are:

Transparent (Amazon Prime)

Orange is the New Black (Netflix)

Daredevil (Netflix)

Jessica Jones (Netflix)

Game of Thrones (HBO)

Masters of Sex (Showtime)

The Big Bang Theory (CBS)

I tried but I can't bond with the characters in Transparent, especially the son.

I've watched all of Orange is the new black. I love many of the characters.

I've yet to see Daredevil but I'm looking forward to watching that.

I thought Jessica Jones was really good, the super power element makes the story even better.

I haven't watched Masters of Sex yet.

And, of course, I love Big Bang theory. Sheldon is my favorite.

Sens8, on Netflix was interesting.

Jessica Jones is outstanding.

An Honourable Woman is excellent, especially for anyone who enjoys Homeland.

Penny Dreadful on Showtime keeps getting better.

The Knick, in Cinemax just concluded

I've inserted comments below in Bold Another detective I love, and have DVDs are the old "Campion" series with Peter Davidson. Nearly as good as the books. The British TV detectives have really great casting and writing, very few match them in the States.

That elevator scene is good. I liked the other guy, the dentist, played by Steven Root, It was just a small part, but he is a great character actor who played "Jimmy James, the man so nice they named him twice" in the TV series "News Radio" He shows up now and again. Once even in "Justified" - also a good series.

Just a few more UK sereis:

Inspector Morse (older but very good, set in Oxford)

New Tricks : A disgraced Detective Chief Inspector is assigned to a unit manned by three eccentric retired cops to solve cold cases. Very funny and character driven.

Murphy's law: A tough Irish cop goes undercover in gangland.

Here are three set in Europe where the setting is as vital as the characters.

Blood of the Vine: A wine expert solves murders in wine country across France--In French with subtitles

Commissario Brunetti: Set in Venice Inspector Brunetti solves crimes in this gorgeous setting. In German with subtitles

Inspector Montalbano: Set in Sicily in Italian with English subtitles

Salvo Montalbano is the police commissioner of Vigàta, a gruff character who is responsible and serious at work, but often also open and friendly with people he knows he can trust. Montalbano finds he must investigate various criminal acts in his area, for which - thanks to his great intelligence and the help of numerous assistants, even outside the police - he always manages to reconstruct the exact events and to find a solution.

I'm going to be busy over the next several weeks watching some of these.

Thank you and Merry Christmas

I know it's highly rated but I watched the first episode of the Walking Dead and didn't care for it.

Perhaps the show needed to begin with what happened instead of beginning with the aftermath.

Maybe I didn't give it enough of a chance but after an hour of watching zombies shot in the head, it wasn't for me.

I'm having second thoughts about the Walking Dead. Maybe I should give it another chance by watching another episode.

Only, I've yet to find anything as good as American House of Horror, the Wire, Dexter, Six Feet Under, Deadwood, Big Bang, House of Cards, Black List, Orange is the New Black, Lilyhammer, the Sopranos, Fargo, Mad Men, Jessica Jones, and Breaking Bad.

I think I watch way too much television (lol).

Speaking of the undead.

I'm not sure if it qualifies as "good," but I've been enjoying iZombie.
