I'm sure this is meant to be lighthearted, but I'm going to be serious for a minute anyway. (only for a minute)

I don't think the question is very meaningful. Here's why: In my experience, hardly anyone is up for anything. I once read about a man who could only get off by having a girl throw grapefruits at him. That was his one and only kink. No S&M involved, no humiliation, nothing that you might imagine might be associated with such a kink. No sex. Worse, it had to be a different girl each time. He could never get off to the same grapefruit-thrower a second time.

On the one hand, he was pretty extreme case; on the other, according to your scale. . . well, he doesn't even fit on your scale, except to say that he most definitely was not up for anything.

And while this example if pretty unusual, it illustrates something much more common: people tend to fetishize very specific kinks, or groups of kinks. Some of those kinks might be extreme in the extreme— i.e., non-consensual and not even remotely legal. But could that extremist get off on a relatively mild and specific kink, like, say, getting blowjobs from girls with long blonde hair? Quite possibly not.

Not quite sure what to offer as an alternative to your scale; I'm just saying that to be real, there would have to be at least 2 scales, maybe 3. "On a scale 1–10, how broad is your range of kinks?" and "On a scale of 1–10, how devoted are you to any specific cluster of kinks?"

It would take a kinky mathematician to lay out the matrix. And now I'm going to get off (the subject).

This is a good point, because like... if a partner wanted me to throw grapefruit at them I would, but I wouldn't get anything out of it.

But the kinks I have I have pretty strong.

So I'd score pretty high on both scales but they are two completely different things.

I'm interested, for the people who aren't into bdsm and/or pain of any description, but still give a high number, what they ARE into. Just because I pretty much am into some aspects of bdsm, and definitely into pain, but wouldn't give myself that high a number ... am I missing out on something?
