When is it polite to contact your editor?

Whoa. Fiction doesn't work like that. An editor would want to work with the whole thing. There's an arc and continuity to fiction. You can sometimes split up nonfiction into smaller parts, but it doesn't work well at all with fiction.

Woa!!! Who replaced the water in my glass? That's the second time in a row that I agree with you there; something is definitely wrong!

Give him another chance, you might agree more in the future. ;)

Hmmm...

Not sure if the "Woa" is about me as editor or the writer.

The writer contacted and sent me a huge story that I have little hope of editing (138 Word pages). The writer, beforehand, saw my thread about me being willing to edit "short" stories, and asked me to edit a few pages so he/she could then use to pattern their remaining story.

I don't feel bad about sending the writer my general response. What makes it even easier is that the writer is VERY good! Has a real talent, IMHO.

Not sure if what was written was intended for me. But here we are... wanna dance?

LOL

Nope, my whoa wasn't about you, sweet. I was surprised that I was agreeing twice in a row with SR.

I'm all for giving second, third and fourth chances, Lynn. There's no point holding a grudge over something that I don't even remember anymore, life is too short, at least mine is getting shorter by the minute, and I don't need bad energy and hate in my life
, and I don't need bad energy and hate in my life.
