We are kinda in apples and oranges. suppositories Are inserted about a 1”-1 1/2” in to the rectum you lay still for a while while the medication is devolved into the body.
I was curious about this so I researched the question. The medication in a suppository gets absorbed by the blood vessels in the rectum. I read that the rectum cannot absorb liquids but it might absorb some of the chemicals in semen the same way that the medication is absorbed. The substance of the suppository which is glycerin just melts and gets expelled. My son is a medical student but I don’t really want to ask him about this. I might ask him some general questions lol

Well if I remember my anatomy correctly, there's a closing at the juncture of the rectum and the colon, and it is normally closed to prevent liquids from flowing into the rectum.
