why does incest do so well?

"I can do better than this."

Thus, my "Stephanie" stories were born.

As far as categories that are virtual land mines... Loving Wives tends to be a catch-all. There is the odd story that happens to actually be a "loving wife" story, but for the most part, a lot of the LW stuff is actually "Cheating Wife" stories. It's a limitation of the category header that it tends to be vague.

Very well put, susurrus...and I have recently enjoyed your "Stephanie" stories...and you CAN, indeed, "do better than that."

p.s. Thanks for your positive feedback on "Tortured by Pleasure." I've had some very nice comments on that one. I guess maybe I should start a thread about BDSM, eh? ;)

Gotwood,

Thank you for the compliment. I'm glad that story still holds up after 4 years.

I guess, if it comes right down to it, you can take almost any story and - with some judicious modification of the connection between the characters and their living arrangements - turn it into an incest story.

Ultimately, regardless of a person's *real* opinion of incest, there's still the fascination. It's another of those unexplainables, very similar to "Why do most guys like the thought of two girls together, but balk at the idea of two guys?" Just making a point. I don't mean to start a war with that one.

Maybe we should co-author a bondage story, what do you think?

*smiles a wickedly evil grin, imagining Cat tied to a large bed with strips of her own shirt, her body bare from the waist up, her breasts covered with a fine sheen of perspiration*

"I'm thinking you read my mind, dear!"

Not just on Literotica

I know I'm jumping into this discussion late in the game, but I wanted to point out that I own more than my proper share of erotic novels, particularly Black Lace and Masquerade publications. In each and every one of these books there is an incestual relationship, whether cousins, step-siblings, or step-parent and child.

My own fascination with incest is definately purely fantasy. There is something about the natural loving relationship one has with family and crossing the wire a bit and turning it into a sexual relationship. I think our brains appreciate the simple logic of loving someone and wanting to make love with them, yet the social barrier against making love with family creates a brain spasm that it quite titillating, like being on a roller-coaster.

Very well, put, Cynthia...I like the comparison to being on a roller-coaster! :)

Now, the question is: asuming the story I wrote was more on the upper slope (generally speaking, referring to how 'wholesome' the incestuous relationship was)...what is it that makes us want to read the stories that dip into the lower end of the ride...the ones that make us go, "Wow. How in the heck would that ever happen, in any kind of a normal family?"

Cuz, you know we've all read one or two of those...even if we didn't manage to finish them!
