Women's Indian fantasy...is it real?

Well the same can be said about men wanting their women to be something more than they are. Otherwise there would be no purpose or reason for plastic surgeons to exist other than post traumatic reconstructive surgery.

And Woody doesn't seem to have any issues when it comes to attracting women...that is just his movie alter ego.

I think it's very different though. Sure, men are just as guilty when it comes to setting standards (though personally, could never date a plastic girl). But women don't just want someone they are attracted to, they want someone who can support the collective weight of the relationship. Her baggage, and his. A lot of the time it seems to get overlooked that men even have baggage; we get derided as these neanderthalic creatures who follow only the basic of primal instinct. But you know, we're fucked up too.

I think that yes, men also want someone who can handle, and support them emotionally, but I don't think it's typical of men to go out looking to be supported. I think it's more typical of us to seek someone who can handle our independence, and let's face it, how often does that happen?

And yeah, Woody had the wit/charm, and you know, I can attract women too. But regardless, that doesn't mean I can hold more than my own weight.

A few years ago I was at a dinner with some relatives and a bunch of (mostly) boring country club people they know. At some point a young woman, seated at the table with her parents, announced that she had started dating an "indian" guy. Her father, a crusty half-drunk moneyed type, looked up at her and with a puzzled look asked, "Dot or feather?".

Isn't it crazy though? Literally, it was a mistake when Native Americans were originally refered to as Indians.

And it still needs to be clarified, to this day, what you mean when you say Indian.

Crazy.

Unless you're holding Mia Farrow's daughter.

No I have never has this fantasy but I sure have it now!!! I would definitely read your story if you wrote one up along the lines you described here.

I am about halfway thru a book on Chief Joseph and the flight of the Nez Perce. I will probably have trouble finishing it now because I am now thinking of Native Americans in a whole new light. Thanks for that.

I'll see what I can do, and I'll be sure to let you know when the story is completed.

BTW - Nice avatar!

Hmmm...

I have a few thoughts on this. Damn sweet. I think you know where my box... er, inbox is. I'm in Pine Ridge about once a year visiting friends and stuff. Hmmmm.

lakota warrior, i think it is a common fantasy women have. although i think it extends to the idea of a more primal "woodsy" or nature like guy who captures them and takes them home.
it could be a native guy, or some dude from the african savannah, or the viking warrior type thing.
but it does go with the bondage scene quite well. my wife likes to be tied to a tree and for me to use her in the "wild" man aspect.

I am going to bring this back from the dead and openly admit, that I have an undeniable physical, sexual attraction to Native American men.

That makes me very horny. It doesn’t even necessarily have anything to do with wanting to be carried off and ravaged by a traditional, full blown Native man.I'd have sex with a good looking, talented, intelligent Native American any day of the week, month, or year anywhere. There’s just something about them…

I just think they’re physically gorgeous and their culture is actually fascinating…beautiful. Study worthy. It's worth knowing...

Unlike most Euro-American white men who wouldn’t know culture or their own heritage if it shoved itself up their ass. Yawnnn.

And the attraction embarrasses me because it is probably the result of romanticizing Native American men. Good job, me.

Shame on me.

Thanks for resurrecting this thread, Heatless... I personally have always felt an attraction to NA men. I have no illusion of being carried away on horseback, and nobody needs to wear buckskin (I have my own, thank you ;-) ) but maybe it's the culture, maybe it's something deeper.

Maybe it's my own background, who knows. It wasn't Dances With Wolves or anything like that... it's a connection that's always been there. A hunger, if you will...

I don’t really have any illusions as to Native American men either. With any cultural group, there comes a dose of brutal reality i.e. the results of Natives having been brutally forced from their original lands by a bunch of sun deprived lunatics who had never heard of the words, “Hi, may we live on this land with you?”, “Please,” “Thank you,” “Difference is not an issue! Please continue about your religious and cultural practices without taking heed of us.”

But, I digress…the species I was describing does not sound remotely human because the demonstrated behavior is too reasonable and rational. Jajaja

Yes, over a hundred years later (and the injustice is even more recent than that), and I, a little, weird, WHITE, "American" born, girl sit here bitching about the disgusting, barf worthy treatment and disregard of the rights of Native Americans to this land, their culture, and their religion.

I’m Irish. Put it together.

Horny + rebel = Irish

:D

AHA! There seems to be a common thread here (no pun intended?). I, too, am Irish. Actually, there's some Sioux, possibly Lakota, in my distant past, but it was shoved under the rug so long who could ever trace it.

My NA girlfriends are some of the most honest, fun and resilient souls I've ever met. I am fortunate enough to visit them around once a year. My heart has raced more than once when some of the men are nearby.

Now my thoughts are racing, too ;-)

ah.... Is that what it is with me too???.. Well I'm Irish and Scottish...

I myself have never had this fantasy... but I do find Native American men VERY attractive..

I think the Irish as well as Scottish, one of the few white ethnic groups who have been publicly acknowledged as having suffered a great deal, have a natural empathy for the shit people of darker color have been put through...that is if they have not loss touch with their own heritage.

The Irish and Scottish are known the world over for their battles.

William Wallace of Scotland.

A few centuries later, Michael Collins of County Cork, Ireland.

Haha.

I think Irish and Native American people seem to have a sort of odd affinity for each other. I think Irish people dig the dark coloring and exotic facial structure of the Native, and I think the Native people seem to like the pale skin/red hair look of the Irish.

My mother is Irish, my father is Native American. I'm bi-racial.

I have heard that there is a certain percentage of white women (or non-Indian women), who have a fantasy about being captured by a half-naked Indian in buckskins, thrown on a horse, and brought to his Tipi. From there, the fantasies might be more specific to the individual.

You see this fantasy potrayed in quite a few "romance novels," but I was wondering:

Is this is a true fantasy some women have?

Would any women like to comment on it?
I personally have never had that fantasy. I can say that there are certain characteristics of Native American men that can be very attractive, such as the warrior type, which shows very strong dominant personalities, which many women including me find very sexy. Another thing is the strength and the lack of clothing, which also shows somewhat dominance due to the strength they have. Another thing is the whole nature scene. I have never really gotten turned on by sex in forests or anything but I have noticed alot of women tend to like that.

Another thing is that they are more likely to be more....natural I guess. There are so many men nowadays that cuss and are vulgar all the time, which is a huge turn off to me, but native american men(real native american, not the ones who own casinos) tend to be more serious and not as lazy as alot of modernized men.

It's true. Although, my experience is that the red hair usually indicates Scottish descent or, even more interesting, descent from a line of Irish ancestors that had intermarried and mated with the viking invaders.

More Irish women tend to be dark haired, with the nearest thing to red being auburn or vibrant natural highlights. Though full blown red is rare, natural red highlights and auburn brown is really common. At least in the region the women of my family come from (Dublin, though I know there are other areas they came from). As with any nationality, though, the looks and coloring vary greatly.

Your mother is a rarity then. Pretty. Your dad sure lucked out. :D

Perhaps it's the pride in the history and heritage more than even the suffering... all peoples suffer. Dunno.

I'll see if I can find it again, but one of the recent hair color studies I've looked up in typical Cancerian curiosity said that Ireland had the world's largest population of natural redheads. I'm just going by what I've seen, but I/it could be wrong.

Honestly, though, there's a lot of different shades of blonde, be it dark, light, golden, ash or strawberry, but it's still considered blonde, isn't it? I guess I consider auburn or red tones to darker hair to be red as much as full blown carrot top "Ginger" orange.

And my mom lucked out too. Both my parents were very gifted in the genetic department!!!

Which must mean you yourself are doubly as gifted genetically! :D

Some people have all the luck!

As for the Irish having the most natural red heads, again, that would be historically attributed to the viking invaders.

Still Irish though, in my book.
