I can't stand "The Climb" by Miley Cyrus. I can't stand anything by Miley Cyrus, actually. Her voice just kind of grates on me.

On the TV show House, the main character's cell ringtone is "Mmm Bop", which I find absolutely hilarious.

My 14-year-old asked if she could sing Taylor Swift's "Love Story" at my fiance's and my wedding next spring. We told her if she did, we'd walk her to the end of the dock at the wedding location and throw her into the harbor. lol

I think the instrumentals, the way the tempo changes and goes back n forth is what made it popular, as you pointed out the lyrics really aren't very good. Remember it was made in a very different era. I might add if it weren't for that song we never would have had that McDonalds commercial with mr quarter moon playing the piano singing about big Mac's lol.
